How would you describe yourself as a gamer?

I would say I'm a sit-on-my-ass single-player. I don't like short games or MP-centric games (I'm looking at you, Blur).

I'm a single-player who prefers a bit of strategy in his games.
One of the reasons I love Rome: Total War so much.

I'm retro gamer. I play the classics spanning from the NES to the PS2 with few modern games on my diet. I don't set out to do this, I just don't like the plague of military FPS on modern consoles. Oh and I love a good story too

An obsessive one.

I get completely drawn in when I play a new game and it's pretty much all I think about until its finished.

And then there's Fallout 3... that was kinda scary for a while there :D

I play for the stories & gameplay which is why I don't read books much. Although I'm starting to read more now because games aren't living up to either of thoughs aspects.

I like FPSs, RTSs, and RPGs. I'm primarily a console gamer(xbox 360 and PS2) except for some old games(5 years or more) because I'm too poor to afford a good computer system. I like modern games as well as old games.

If you haven't already you could try out Beyond Good and Evil, it has a very good story. A quick warning: The start of BG&E is a little cutesy, but it get's better.
Edit: I hear Shadow of the Colossus also has a good story. I have yet to finish it though.

I'm an inventive gamer. Someone who'll just make pretend in a game and make stuff up as I go along.
Does anyone else do this? Eg. In Spiderman 3 on PS3 I love wearing the black suit and just jumping over rooftops at night, pretending to be a ninja.

I'm also a big daydreamer. Someone who'll imagine what I would have done with a game all the time. Like with Lair on PS3. It's a shit game, but the dragons are amazingly animated and really feel realistic, plus they're actually pretty fun to fly with the analogue stick setup.
If I was making Lair, I would have made sure to give an awesome open world that you can explore and fly around in, with lots of little details, like Red Dead Redemption and give it a not-shit storyline and more refined controls.

Mainly console,I like both single and multi player, favourite genres are RTS and RPG, I also like FPS's and Stealth games. Although I have a pretty small collection I like to think of my-self as an avid user.

I like budget titles and cheap games no one's heard of, mainly shooters (first and third person) but any kind of game will do, and the only multiplayer I like is split-screen. I love budget title plots, if they have one

I like all aspects of gaming
Action/Adventure, Platformers, FPSs, RPGs, Beat em ups, Racing etc..
I play the single player mostly and some story-lines can be fantastic, but I can get really addicted to some of the multiplayer options, online or offline, co-op or deathmatch things etc

I love all gaming types theres not one specific one I like the most, ill go through phases where ill be addicted to FPSs (like I am now), to racing games, RPGs and so on

"I think games don't get their due at their best, they're immersive, amusing, entertaining and downright joyful" to quote Charlie Brooker

Everyone here needs to see "Gameswipe" its brilliant.

I'm a LAN player. I'll play anything multiplayer, as long as I'm able to throw M&M's at my fellow-players when they stuff up.

I'm also a PC player, though by reason of poverty rather than design, as I had a computer when I started gaming, and not a console. Now I'm used to it, though I don't feel the need to champion it as a platform.

I'm the thinker. I like my story and whatnot, but if you're going to give me the chance to interact with the story, expect me to start trying to manipulate the situation from the get-go.

Single player, sometimes play with friends, but mostly online. I like story-driven games, although it's not needed all the time.
