Just throw him in a huge ocean of acid, on a planet that has no oxygen and a toxic atmosphere. Also, nobody ever goes there so even IF he survived he could never leave there to come bother you again

If even a scrap of DNA remains, he will regenerate, so unravel the DNA.

Introduce the malevolent mitochondria from the Parasite Eve series into his body, the ones that rewrite all DNA and create horrific mutations before destabilising into orange goo; either that or localise the End Of Evangelion to just affect him, destabilising into orange goo. The way to kill wolverine involves orange goo.

Goo to it.
i doubt that the body must go beyond a point where the damage is too extensive to re-generate, say if you chopped him in half, or went further to put the pieces of him in a wood chipper

This is something that me and a couple friends have gotten into long debates over. Keep in mind, we exclude the possibilities that are available in the X-Men universe but not our own. So far the best idea that we've come up with is introducing HIV into his system, but we can't even decide if this would work because he regenerates/heals.

How would you kill Wolverine if you had to?
I wouldn't Problem solved :D

Seriously, why kill Wolverine, i'd try to be his friend and have him do stuff for me, like go into a nuclear blast...

Tranquilizers to incapacitate him.

After that, incinerators, molten metal (worked in Terminator 2, didn't it), active volcanoes, vats of acid, etc. In general, anyting that would eliminate all of his soft tissue, leaving nothing to regenerate from.

Also, in a pinch I'd consider severe head and brain trauma, to the point of scrambling his brains into mush or destroying it completely. Decapitation is also a valid option. He might eventually recover from that, but even if he does there's the possibility that the info that was stored in his head would not, leaving him the equivalent of a newborn child.

Not really sure how I'd go about the actual killing, but I DO know how I'd put him into submission:

Edit: Actually, I think I DID find a suitable way of killing off Logan.

I believe Wolverine himself admitted to many ways he could be killed... I think someone challenged the idea he was Immortal and should have no fear of death like others who could not regenerate. He mentioned like 10 and none of them seemed to require too much resources.
Reality-bending mutants is the only one that sticks to my mind. (The Saturday Cartoons once had one of them 'melt' Wolverine into a puddle until the guy left the area, he reverted back to normal.)

In one comic, I believe Wolverine was possessed by something and was killing all mutants. Kitty used her powers to grab his brain and pull it out. I'm pretty sure that killed him.

He's not a zombie or a demon, separating his limbs won't help guys, he'll grow new ones from his core.
Then there is the part where he doesn't have 'slightly increased regeneration' he has a ridiculously flawless healing factor that brings him back from 'death' for always and ever.

If we were saying 'how could he die?' then these crazy hyper scenario's are the answer...
But the question was 'how would you?' and that's a whole different question that I don't believe anyone in this continuity of existence can possibly answer.

All of these "cut to pieces, put in lava, frozen in carbonite, launched into the moon, nuke the moon" answers fall apart when you consider none of that kills him, just incapacitates him. The dude doesn't die via conventional means.
The only way I could see to kill him is cure his mutant abilities and leave him to his adamantium.

Depending on the writer Woverine ranges from possible to kill if you drain all his blood, to probably not possible to kill even if you drop a nuclear bomb on him.

Personally I'd chuck him into a volcano. Doesn't matter how much he'd be able to regenerate, he wouldn't be able to regenerate faster than his body would disintegrate from the exposure to magma. Maybe he'd get pushed out in a few hundred or thousand years, but by then I no longer care.

2 of those giant magnets, the one you use to move cars around. one on his head and other on his feet and then play tug of war.

Freeze him with carbonite then inject acid into his body (the anmantium won't get damaged but he will) then cut off every part of his body into pieces and throw them into every volcano across the planet and if THAT didn't work THROW HIM IN TO SPACE!

Do what Magneto (?) did in Ultimatum. Burn every living cell in Wolverines body to nothingness. Killed him pretty good there.

When there is no living tissue left he cant regenerate. Generally his adamantium skeleton protects his bone marrow and stuff.. but burn even that and there is not much left of him.

Kill him? No WAY! I would chop him in as many pieces as possible and I'd let them regenerate. Hopefully in a few months I'll be the ruler of this universe with my own personal clone army. But in the of-chance that I'll have to kill my dream then I'd use that X-cure boy. Then I'd chain that boy very close to his corpse till he becomes plants and flowers. Then I'be sending those flowers on another planet which I'd name Pandora. Just so both Universes (X-men and Avatar) can exist as one.
I bet someone else beat me to it. LOL

Didnt cyclops have to knock him unconcious by shoving his head into a bucket of water in one issue?

So yea i think drowning works best.
