So, there I sat, slashing Dark Jedi into pieces on Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy, stopping the train, and completing the level, and the game very nicely gave me a 'point' to put into another skill (or a new skill) for the next mission. Awesome! say alot of people...
But it got me thinking about inFamous, and the cunning way it gave you new powers. because running a few gazillion volts of electricity through your system, can make you do funky new things (don't go and try it for real, I'll feel bad)
I can almost understand the Jedi Knight bit, it'd be described as meditation and training between missions and such, and mini games for each would have been... possibly annoying, after a while. and the inFamous way of doing things was a bit more fun, even in a 'you'll be using nothing but this move till you get out of here' kind of way
From Trainers, Warcraft style, to suddenly knowing how to do something for no apparent reason. I'm wondering, how many ways of making your character, or avatar, learn something new are there? and which are the best?
p.s. search bar didn't come up with anything, but I MIGHT have missed something.
