Over your time here at the Escapist, how have you changed as a poster? as a person? do you do things now that you would never have done when you first joined? has your outlook on life been affected by the Escapist?

For me, i don't really think i've changed too much besides the length of my posts, before i would usually just answer something then move on to the next thread, but now i am much more articulate with my posts and if a worthy question is proposed to me i will adress it properly and try to engage the person asking it in a discussion.... but thats just me, so i want to know how you fellow Escapists have changed since you first joined...

I know I've gotten more community-minded.
When I first joined, I didn't care at all about interacting with people here. But then someone[footnote]Daye.04[/footnote] got me more involved, and you see what happened.
I like to think that my posts have gotten better over time as well, but I'm not too sure if that's the case. One thing I do know is that my demeanor has changed. I used to be really determined to derail topics, be somewhat abusive, and just be something of a near-dick.
As far as my outlook on life is concerned...I doubt the site has changed due to the site.
I'd love if I could say it has, as I love this site beyond measure, but I'm still the same really quiet person in reality as I ever was.

On the site, I've improved my spelling and grammar, which is still probably just as bad as it was before. That's it, unless you count the review bug I have caught lately.

As for life improvements or changes, a few small things. Maybe become a little more trusting and open with friends thanks to becoming good friends with some users here and sharing with them. I may also have become a little bit crazier in real life, not really sure. Does saying 'Cake' at odd times seem crazy?

As for whether it has changed my outlook on life or not, I'm not sure. I'm a little bit less serious about things in life and I'm not getting annoyed by much as I used to before joining here. I look at my life as something that you live once, so why not have fun while living it. And I bet that made no sense at all. :p
Ah well.

When I first joined, I was pretty timid and was actually pretty afraid of posting anything. It has been a common experience that people are assholes in forums and are nothing but trolls. I've found, however, that people actually voice valid opinions here, have decent discussions, debate without being children (most of the time)... so it's been pretty positive and enlightening. I've become more confident, I suppose, and I'm less and less afraid of posting what I really think, knowing that trolls are, generally, penalized and, at least, smacked with probation.

My life (as in, life on the Escapist) story right there, mate.

I...seriously cannot explain it any better than you did. (Y)
