Howard the Duck Returning to Comic Stores Next March

i wonder how much input the creator of Howard the Duck, Steve Gerber, has on this comic?

He's been dead for about 7 years, so hopefully not a lot.

he can can back as a zombie if he tried hard enough.. but seriously, i didn't know he was dead... guess marvel was waiting till he died to bring back his character and not have to pay Steve Gerber

Actually Howard the Duck never left, he was in Heroes Reborn, Civil War, Secret Invasion, and formed a team with She-Hulk in Fear Itself.

And if I remember correctly Gerber did write Howard stories every now and then before he died.

I love Howard the duck but the worst thing that could happen to the character is if he developed prominence and became likable to all. There is just something so enduring about the duck but I think it may be lost if all the haters decide to bandwagon over to liking him. So please continue to hate Howard, I'll be grinning ear to ear and silently thanking you for your derision, the underduck lives on.

Not sure how I feel about this... Sure I am curious, but Howard the Duck WAS Steve Gerber. I would be very stunned if anyone else could even come close to writing him in a consistent way.

I'm game for this. I agree that now is the time to really draw the parody of Disney out and have little to no seriousness in it. I might not sell well with the rest of the audience, but it would be a nice break from dark and dank seriousness.

Then again, I don't read Marvel. I read Sonic the Hedgehog, so what do I know?
