The big ole sexuality poll got me thinking. When did you know what you were? Gay, straight, trans, bi or whatever else there is now a days. It might have been sudden or not, but I was just curious if some folks would share personal experiences about it.

Personally I was boy crazy since kindergarten, Never really felt the urge to do something with a chick partially because I don't really know any girl pretty enough to do that to me.

My younger sister is bi, but she tilts gay. I know she had a tough time with it even though she is the stereotypical lesbian with playing softball and dressing pretty manly. Our parents are cool with it and like her girlfriend. Just wanted to see what else could have happened.

Always assumed I was straight, and that's how I turned.
The tranny thing came as a bit of a surprise, though.

Errr... just have to say, "Trans" isn't a sexuality. Transsexual is a condition, not an attraction.
Although, there may be a name for an attraction to trans people. Not one I know of, though.
Anyway, I've been nonsexual since it clicked into place... a while ago.
I can't remember exactly when... just happened. Maybe I fried my brain with the dream recorder...

I'd say I figured out I was gay about 13, but didn't actually accept it until about 18, whereas my boyfriend liked boys at around 11... ya know the whole I'll show you mine if you show me yours deal.

Your completely right, I just meant it in a way where you know your not conforming to traditional gender standards.

For me it was sometime in highschool (I think I was a freshman or sophomore) I discovered the was both a bisexual and that I had what some call "gender identity disorder". Then in time after I looked into dating both sexes (Unlike most bisexuals I don't have a developing preference to either.) and began hormone replacement therapy.

I think it really depends on the person, some discover it late some (Like you Pixiejedi) get to discover it early.

Edit: Since it came up in earlier post, I also find people transitioning from one sex to the other attractive too as well.

Well, I thought long and hard whether I liked penis or pussy one day (or maybe a week... Shut up!)

So I thought, and I thought, and I thought...
And indeed, I only got a boner from the latter. Seems I remain amongst 80% of the population with 'normal' habits. (Heterosexual, mind)

I can safely make jokes that I want to put another mans ween inside my mouth without feeling awkward, embarrassed, whatever. I know I'm not turned on from the idea, and that's enough proof to me without taking it up the ass.

A Hermit's Cave
Three relatively long relationships with women (considering my age) would indicate me as straight. However, I have one male friend with whom I do everything except have sex (note, he has a wife).

What does that make me? I haven't the faintest idea...

I know around aged 11. Came out to my best mate at 15, family at 16 followed shortly by everyone else.

Don't label yourself if you don't know :)

Only relationship with a bloke when I was 16, I think. Figured out it wasn't for me, though guys do still occasionally feature in my sexual imagination.

In any case, I'd say I'm largely straight.

about 18, had a few relationships at college. I kind of went underground (sort of speak) and havent been in a relationship since then, but i find myself attracted to members of both genders, particularly one guy who looked like Neil Patrick Harris...
Where was i? Oh Yes, i'd say in general im Bi-Sexual

Never been anything else than straight, so I can't contribute with any stories. :<
Had to kiss a guy once after a drunken truth or dare however. The mustache stub was a real mood breaker.

I didn't realise I was gay until I was 12 and came out at thirteen, just because I never thought about it. I mean, I'd never been interested in boys, and I was always the class "boyfriend" at my all girls' primary school and all that but I mean I was never treated any differently or anything. Everyone was always accepting of me, although they brushed it off as being a tomboy, so I never actually even thought about it until I actually got old enough for the teenage/tween hormones to kick in and make you think about stuff like that.

Everyone else knew I was gay (or at least suspected it) from early childhood though.

Always been straight, so no big revelation.

I imagine that realising you're gay is only such a revelation (for the most part) because its barely shown to children as being fine when they're younger.

Well, I thought I was straight until 17. More a matter of not putting much thought into it than anything else. Was attracted to girls, so just figured that was that. Then at 17 I met a guy who literally made me do a double-take and it occurred to me it's pretty hard to be straight when you've just fallen head over heels for another guy.

Fortunately, I'm fine with people all of varieties, so it didn't bother me. My friends are also pretty cool, so rather than seriously coming out it was more like:
"Okay, so apparently I'm bi."
"That's cool."

Im assuming and think Im straight

however Ive never really been that feminine and when was a huge tomboy when I was younger.
I NEVER liked girly things, I hated girly cloths and anything remotley girly just made me uncomfortable

I grew out of it though and can be femenine enough, you know to be considered "attractive" however I still cant walk in heels and Im a completle noob when it comes to make-up or choosign clothes (I got the hair straightening thing down perfect though :D ) and rather spend money on games than girly things....in fact clothign stores and girly places used to make me panic

anyway obviously that doesnt make me gay...but still

I have very little experience in that area so being compltley and 100% honest there's a chance I could swing eather way (latley Ive been considering the possability even more, when at the first thourght it disgusted and frightened me)

anyway if I was (you know theoretically) I dont think I could ever go through "coming out", I mean as If wasn't abnormal enough....my familily arnt homophpic..but...ugghh it would be too much

I assume I'm straight. But you never know unless you try, right?

EDIT:

Exactly the same with me! Except for the family part, my Dad and Step-family are a bit homophobic. And slightly racist too. :/

[sub]I still have a little trouble with getting my hair straight. Stupidly thick hair...*muttering*[/sub]

In my head I just got a vision of a person who gettting dressed to go to work and suddenly realising they have a whole other closet of opposed gender clothing. A bit like a memento.

OT: I don't think there was ever a realisation, I just like women. Like food, there are some things you just know you like without trying them.
