I know there's alot of bad press for us as a species. Which seems odd when you think about it.

We are aware of our own mistakes but keep making them, history repeats, old habits die hard etc etc.

What I'm slowly getting to, is that as a species we have odd quirks and funny little habits, and sometimes the ways in which we interact can make for brilliant laugh enducing stories.

Basically, do you have any anecdotes, in which you or a friend or whatever, had something odd happen to them because of another human being? You know those odd little moments that we share that restore the faith a little bit?

I had a guy hate me because his girlfriend liked me more than him. And so did her family :)
And he was incredibly paranoid. They had a row in the middle of the street because he saw her "talk to another boy in science class"

I don't think the two previous posters have gotten the essence of your post (no offence, I might be mistaken). Could you perhaps give us an example of what you meant?

Instinctual homicide. !!Super Kawaii Desu Ne~~!! ^_^

EDIT: Bottom line is that we're beyond redeeming with a few cute stories. Besides, every story has an ulterior motive, and those are never as nice as you'd like to think they are.

The only thing lately that has inspired me about the good of humanity:

I have been having trouble getting my life together. I am 18 and awhile ago my mother randomly kicked me out of the house for no other reason than I called her insane because she was hopped up on drugs and managed to alienate her entire family and piss off my step father (who is a good man and did not deserve her shit) to the point where he had no choice but to divorce her. There is a long list of issues with her that make everyone I know think we would be much happier if she disappeared, but I digress this is off the point. I have been living with my step father since I had no other place to go. Well when she kicked me out she kept all of my school books, my social security card, my birth certification, etc. I finally got all my legal information buy selling various computer parts and I was talking about the situation to a couple of friends during a party, and one of my friend's dad offered to pay for me to get my GED so I could go to college and not let my mother fucking up my schooling drag me down. It was massively cool of him and I owe him a large debt of gratitude. This man with no tie to me whatsoever decided to pay for my GED with no strings attached other than that I better get my ass into a college afterwords.

Other than happy stories there is one factor that makes humanity special. That is a person's desire to live and bond with other humans in a progressive manner. It is the reason we rule the world and the reason that despite claiming to have no faith in humanity, you still won't volunteer for slave labour.
