Well, no. Disregarding exact numbers (which I'm too lazy to dredge up right now), I've always had a rule of thumb for this: Back when we still had the Deutsche Mark in Germany, one DM was worth roughly one third of a pound; then the Euro came along, which was worth about 2 DM... over time the ratio has shifted slightly against the pound, but by this rule of thumb at the time of its introduction one Euro was still worth roughly two thirds of a pound.The Rockerfly said:

Of course there is goodness in humanity... It's just our daily lives are bombarded by negative media so often the two never appear to balance each other out.
It's there though, there are small times where it shines through the mass of depravity that humanity sinks into also.

As humans we are vessels of passion beyond compare. Unlike any other being on this planet, we are capable of so very much with that power. There are options that can inspire the lowliest and bring hope to those that have none, embolden the weak or bring justice where previously reigned chaos. Yet equally, we also have such ability to cause strife, hatred and pain.
Its a fact of life that humanity is split between the two though as free-will makes it this way. I see this as a good thing, though, as it ensures that each act of generosity and kindness is all that much more powerful with knowledge that the person behind it is doing so with conscious thought - and that most individuals thereby have a genuine potential to change their ways. Being railroaded into a particular morality (much less everyone being that way for a particular one) would be pretty boring anyway, right?
In short, we're all big pots of paint really. Its what you decide to do with that paint! Whether you're indigo or lavendar is a different topic altogether. Lulz.

Good on him. Although I can't imagine getting any money for helping to convict a rapist, murderer, robber, whatever and not giving the money to the person or their family that were affected. "Hey, you got raped and I got £10,000. Sucks to be you!" Still, I'm glad he helped in getting the bastard convicted, and hopefully the money will at least help the woman rebuild her life. Kudos good sir, it's always nice to see that people can still behave like people. Sad that a story about a human actually acting decently is cause for a news story though.
