purchased! I hope THQ doesn't get burned but really, they aren't really losing any sales. The people who would have bought these games already bought them and those that weren't buying will only buy them now.

Wow, poor THQ is really getting desperate. They are willing to try everything in the book to get some money in. Good for the consumers but I hope they manage to survive this. They are sitting on so many good licences and they were not thaaaaat bad as a publisher. (certainly not what I would call evil)
I don't know that this is desperation.

If anything, it's a way to get some free publicity. By this point, almost everyone who wanted to play these games at full price has already bought them. This way, they make a bit of money off of games that aren't new (and therefore aren't selling too well anymore), and they can draw in some new fans.

I'd expect them to see a lot of extra sales on Darksiders 2, for instance, because people who enjoy the first one will probably want the second. Similarly, Company of Heroes 2 is coming out next year, and this helps to get the series some more attention.

Welcome Captain Reason to a thread full of folks who don't get it.

Well not FULL but a lot of the comments thus far are pretty off the wall :p.

Windows only again. Meh.

Why do I even get excited anymore when I see a new Humble Bundle?

Well I told everyone I know who might be remotely interested in it. I really hope this does become really popular and maybe we can see some popularity in the indie bundles as well as the AAA bundles.

Not really "indie." Like, at all. Oh well, it's neat that these games will be on Mac and Linux, since the humble indie bundle requires the games to be cross-platform! Oh, Windows only... kind of lame. But hey, big AAA games DRM-free! After all, when the bundle first launched, the co-founder, Jeffrey Rosen, said he's willing to tolerate piracy numbers, and remained adamant that the games be DRM-free. He even said the following: "When considering any kind of DRM, we have to ask ourselves, 'How many legitimate users is it OK to inconvenience in order to reduce piracy?'" he wrote at the time. "The answer should be none." So yeah, big AAA games DRM-free! That's awesome!

Wait, it requires Steam? Well, Steam is pretty convenient as far as DRM goes, but it's still certainly more inconvenient than "no DRM at all."

I mean, it's a damn good deal and all, but it still seems kind of... opposite of what this bundle was apparently intended to do. Bring not-so-well-known indie games into the public eye for a low price, cross-platform compatibility, and no DRM. This bundle does none of that, apart from the low price.
I love how fail to mention the charitable part of HumbleBundle.

But no, screw charity, we need DRM free indie games!

Wow, I already own these games.. but I'll pay them more than the average for the soundtracks. These guys are awesome. All the more reason to hope they survive.

Edit: This is the curse of the being an early adopter for THQ. But it's all good.

It's amazing how hard people try to be contrarian sometimes.
5 great AAA games and 2 expansions for one of them for the price of whatever? No, that's fucking terrible.

I don't see a reason for the PC version to be different from console, but please, you have to try this co-op at one point. They integrated the second player option in such a perfect, harmonic way. After finishing the game my friend joined me in a new game, and I wondered how the hell they were going to do it. It's so ingenious it's sexy!

Donated $50 bucks, or at least I tried to but the transaction was flagged for review. Guess I'll be waiting to hear back from them. Gave $40 of that to THQ, only seemed fair.

It's worth it to get the bundle just for the soundtracks. And I'll get it in a day or two when the dust settles a bit.

I think its fair to say they made the exemption for a publisher in trouble that people may want to help with some donations. I for one, own all bar 2 of the games in the bundle, but I still payed $100 because they make games I love to play and they need help.

You know, as long as the Humble Bundle people keep publishing indie bundles I have absolutely no issue with them experimenting with alternative models.

Only payed 6$ since the only game I actually had an interest in is Darksiders (already had Metro 2033), but still a good deal even for just that.

To be honest, pretty much all I know about Company of Heroes is that HuK (was the best non-Korean StarCraft II player for a while) used to be considered one of the best CoH player, before switching to StarCraft. /eSports geek

It definitely looks good, i'm watching YouTube vids on it. I've been looking for an RTS game, and i want something somewhat different. Getting Darksiders, Metro 2033 and Saints Row 3 are pretty good for the 20 I paid.

I kind of wish I could send some message along with my purchase because I feel like a jerk giving them such little money. But I already own almost all of these games and really just want the Company of Heroes expansions.

I never really watched Starcraft much but, I thought Idra was always considered the best non-korean SC2 player? I always liked HuK though. He seemed like he took the game less seriously and enjoyed it more.

Well certainly is an interesting why for THQ to try and make some money. I imagine anyone who bought they any of these games in the steam sale is kicking themselves now.
Man! I just bought Saint Row: The third in the steam sales!
