I don't know that this is desperation.Omgsarge said:Wow, poor THQ is really getting desperate. They are willing to try everything in the book to get some money in. Good for the consumers but I hope they manage to survive this. They are sitting on so many good licences and they were not thaaaaat bad as a publisher. (certainly not what I would call evil)
Welcome Captain Reason to a thread full of folks who don't get it.crepesack said:purchased! I hope THQ doesn't get burned but really, they aren't really losing any sales. The people who would have bought these games already bought them and those that weren't buying will only buy them now.
I love how fail to mention the charitable part of HumbleBundle.Irridium said:Not really "indie." Like, at all. Oh well, it's neat that these games will be on Mac and Linux, since the humble indie bundle requires the games to be cross-platform! Oh, Windows only... kind of lame. But hey, big AAA games DRM-free! After all, when the bundle first launched, the co-founder, Jeffrey Rosen, said he's willing to tolerate piracy numbers, and remained adamant that the games be DRM-free. He even said the following: "When considering any kind of DRM, we have to ask ourselves, 'How many legitimate users is it OK to inconvenience in order to reduce piracy?'" he wrote at the time. "The answer should be none." So yeah, big AAA games DRM-free! That's awesome!
Wait, it requires Steam? Well, Steam is pretty convenient as far as DRM goes, but it's still certainly more inconvenient than "no DRM at all."
I mean, it's a damn good deal and all, but it still seems kind of... opposite of what this bundle was apparently intended to do. Bring not-so-well-known indie games into the public eye for a low price, cross-platform compatibility, and no DRM. This bundle does none of that, apart from the low price.
I don't see a reason for the PC version to be different from console, but please, you have to try this co-op at one point. They integrated the second player option in such a perfect, harmonic way. After finishing the game my friend joined me in a new game, and I wondered how the hell they were going to do it. It's so ingenious it's sexy!ritchards said:SR3 means I grabbed this... but I always say 'give all my monies to the charity'...

I think its fair to say they made the exemption for a publisher in trouble that people may want to help with some donations. I for one, own all bar 2 of the games in the bundle, but I still payed $100 because they make games I love to play and they need help.Irridium said:Not really "indie." Like, at all. To be honest, pretty much all I know about Company of Heroes is that HuK (was the best non-Korean StarCraft II player for a while) used to be considered one of the best CoH player, before switching to StarCraft. /eSports geekKyr Knightbane said:I bought this bundle as it has a few games i have been looking for. It definitely looks good, i'm watching YouTube vids on it. I've been looking for an RTS game, and i want something somewhat different. Getting Darksiders, Metro 2033 and Saints Row 3 are pretty good for the 20 I paid.Fox334 said:To be honest, pretty much all I know about Company of Heroes is that HuK (was the best non-Korean StarCraft II player for a while) used to be considered one of the best CoH player, before switching to StarCraft. /eSports geekKyr Knightbane said:I bought this bundle as it has a few games i have been looking for. Charity, THQ, same thing, right?ritchards said:SR3 means I grabbed this... but I always say 'give all my monies to the charity'...
I never really watched Starcraft much but, I thought Idra was always considered the best non-korean SC2 player? I always liked HuK though. He seemed like he took the game less seriously and enjoyed it more.Fox334 said:To be honest, pretty much all I know about Company of Heroes is that HuK (was the best non-Korean StarCraft II player for a while) used to be considered one of the best CoH player, before switching to StarCraft. /eSports geek
Man! I just bought Saint Row: The third in the steam sales! The Artificially Prolonged said:Well certainly is an interesting why for THQ to try and make some money. I imagine anyone who bought they any of these games in the steam sale is kicking themselves now.
