So, these are just my first impressions of the game, from a very early standpoint. The game feels a little rushed and is all in all, pretty average. Graphics, storyline, gameplay, all small in scope and fairly meh, at least in my opinion. I've been playing co op which may change my impression a bit. The game can be challenging, but that may be due to the fact that I was playing with a below average gamer. So, what do you guys feel about the game? Om a side note, they didn't release copy's for early review, so that's a heads up lol.(at least there are no reviews that I can find)

The trailers looked pretty underwhelming. Isn't this a game published by Bethesda? They have a pretty bad track record. I was eyeballing this and Dungeon Siege 3 for a while, but now both look like definite no-go's. The Dungeon Siege 3 demo is pretty damn bad.

I have to ask..

was there any indication at all that this would not be the case? To be fair I didn't look much into the games details, but all the marketing I saw was the same average fantasy wrapped in a 2011 paint job.

At least there's co-op though? If co-op can save something horrendous like Army of Two you can probably get at least one good playthrough of Hunted.

I thought everything about it looked pretty awful, personally. That said, I read the back of the case at Walmart earlier and it went on and on about Dungeon Crawling. Fuck me, I love some old school dungeon crawling.

well I have a game pass at blockbuster, meaning I can rent one game at anytime and bring it back for a new one, so I didn't pay for it lol. What makes me angry is the puzzles are easy, but not only are they easy, your character tells you how to solve them lol.

The game's setting and even some of the core gameplay screams Run-of-The-Mill. But the main reason I'm interested is because of the coop. I hear the encounters have a lot of possibilities for coop tactics. And I also hear the game is very replayable?

it has replay ability, you can choose to play any chapter you've completed at any point. The game has some challenge to it so co op is worthy, but the overall experience isn't that great. It's worth it if you need a bad rpg fix.... like I do.

I'm waiting for someone to trade one in so I can try it out before buying it. The concept looked fun to me, but I'm wondering if the story is worthwhile. One trailer ALMOST had me hooked... where the guy asks if the giant eyeball saw them. Made me giggle.

I'm liking it so far. It's not what I would call a "good" game, but I've enjoyed the 45 minutes or so I've played of it. It's one of those things that's fairly generic, but it doesn't really need to be unique.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I enjoy the high fantasy. I'll find out if the story can hold up though, and if it can't do that, I'm going to quit the thing soon enough.

Thought it looked cool, particularly in co-op, but nothing overly outstanding and definitely not something I'd pick up at new release price. I'd say it's about a $30 game for me, maybe less depending on how well it gets reviewed.

I have to agree with the OP. Usually, I don't buy without having read reviews, but being a dungeon crawl fan and a splitscreen coop enthusiast, I though I couldn't do wrong with this...

Seems I was wrong. The graphics are bad, the characters are unlikeable and the gameplay fells very "late 90ies". And while it's difficult, the difficulty comes mainly from unresponsive controls rather than actually challenging fights.

So I would advise to stay away from it...

Sounds like you're referring to Obsidian? They're the ones making Dungeon Siege 3. This one was made by (or published) by Bethesda which has an excellent track record.

And top add insult to injury: Why do some games in mainland europe only come with friggin german and french dubs? While I am natively speaking german, the dubs usually sound stupid at best and atrocious at worst. So I have set my PS3 to english and play everything that way.

Hunted is one of those culprits (along Saboteur and Burnout: Paradise City), and the really bad dub is nigh unbearable, making the characters even less likeable than they already are.
Additionally, the game starts up in french if I don't switch my PS3 to german...

That just reinforces my feeling that Hunted is about 10 years too late. Everything in it, from the darkish green tint everything seems to have to the rediculously stylized armor and weapons, the enemeis that look rather like men in rubber masks than monsters, to the immensely big boobed women in very revealing armor, mto the bland button mash gameplay just screams "I'm from the late 90ies/early2000s"...

It looks pretty terrible, and yeah, Bethesda's quickly becoming a publisher I don't trust, unless it's a Fallout or Elder Scrolls game (and even then, if they don't develop it, watch out.)

Brink was horseshit, Wet was terrible, and they also released that Rogue Warrior game, which has gotten some of the worst reviews of the generation.

Nope. Bethesda Softworks the publisher, not Bethesda Game Studios the developer. Their non BSG-developed games are pretty low quality overall. They published Hunted.

Dungeon Siege 3 is developed by Obsidian, though (and published by Square Enix, which seems like an odd combination).
