Daniels stumbled as he was pushed back, reeled back into the world from his thoughts as some punk occupied his former stead. The stranger was quickly ushered out by Detective Caron, the most recent addition to the homicide team. Daniels composed himself and watched sternly as Caron began speaking to the man in the hall. Swiftly, the lead detective strode out of the room and approached Caron.
"Can I speak with you in private for a moment, Detective?" Daniels asked calmly as he led her aside, still keeping the punk in his sights. "You were transferred from Traffic, right? Well, I can't say I'm too familiar with how they run things in that department, but here in Homicide, we have certain procedures that must be followed. Now, I don't know if you were misinformed or if they just happened to skip that chapter in your training, but there can be no civilians on scene and certainly not without the express authorization of the lead detective or, in this particular case, agent."
