At the moment at least. You probably don't remember back when Warlocks went from all but useless to MEGADEATHOVERKILL in one patch. But that was in response to Rogues at that time being OP and 'locks being the weakest. Since BC 'locks have been getting shaved down a patch at time, but it's still a fun class with some nice abilites. There's still a lot of players who remember the plague of Warlocks during those days, 2 dots and a noobcoil and walk away from your PC. Hell, I remember a Guildmate who switched from mage>lock and he was virtually unstoppable in duels/bgs and kicked the crap outta dmg done on raids.
But this is the way Blizz works - buff weak class/nerf flavour of the year class/repeat. Awhile ago Shammies were king, then Warrs, then Druids, then Pallys (bile), now I guess its Huntards turn. Don't worry, the more community hate for Hunters and they'll get smited with the nerfhammer soon enough.
EDIT: Quit WoW for the 7th time in Feb - mates are already trying to pull me back...like the friggen mafia.
