I don't remember if I had an Atari, Commodore 64, or Apple II... or switched between them at some point. The games that I remember: Arkanoid, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Stellar 7. We might have had Impossible Mission and a Kermit the Frog dress-up game that involved the moon? Stellar 7 and the Kermit game I remember playing at one house, but that was after we lived in this other house, which is from where I have these memories:
The first game was kind of like Space Harrier, with a two-tone sort of ground that swept by. Maybe it was a jet and there were battleships in the "water", but I also remember there being some kind of tank on a greener landscape.
Then there was a game that was two player. You had a red robot and a blue robot, and you went around this grey place with escalators, shooting other robots. I think you had to find a computer console or something, and the view was sort of tilted, so "up" was more like "up and to the right".

"Also, a Christian game that has you attacking "heretics" with different coloured swords: gold, brown(ish), and I think silver. Now I know that game exists."
Spiritual Warfare for the NES? A Zelda clone that involved throwing fruit at gang members. When you got the sword you could shoot glowing swords around in the general palette of reddish-orange and white.
___________
"This game where you played as a tank vs another tank.
It was turn based and could have 2 players.
You pick your tank and pick your weapons.
Then you fire at one another with special ammo, but it's also fun to blow up the ground and dig a tunnel. to the other tank."
Scorched Earth!!!!
Also in Tyrian 2000 if you type in "Destruct" on the title screen.
