Hurt Locker is an awesome movie.
Realistic effects, excellent script, believable characters and subtle pacing. Not to mention technical accuracy (c'mon people - in how many movies do you see the bullet landing before the rifle report?(when someones shooting at the character))

Haven't seen avatar. Not sure I'm going to - watchmen put me off movies with blue people in.
I just can't face having to stare at another blue penis for 30mins.
c'mon what was the point in that?

Haha, another Avatar joke. I haven't been hearing those same jokes repeated multiple times every single day since it's release as if they were "Thats what she said" jokes. /sarcasm

Na, don't worry. I wasn't talking to you. More aimed at the OP.

The Hurt Locker is a fantastic movie and certainly worth watching, but I did prefer Avatar.

I believe it is the single best movie of 2009. Cameron as best director is BS in my humble opinion. If you don't believe me, just watch the sniper duel. less than ten shots are fired and much more exciting than Transformers entire movie.
That was a spectacular scene and I agree, that one moment is better than both Transformers movies...but what's Cameron got to do with Transformers?...or are you making seperate points?

Separate points. I'm trying to say is that the Hurt Locker can capture more suspense and drama in one scene with little actual action (like I said, maybe ten shots fired) than a huge over the top production's entire length.

I know Cameron had nothing to do with Transformers, Its just an action movie that came to mind.

Ultimates 1 & 2 were awesome. Ultimates 3, I'm pretty sure, is some kind of practical joke. It was more like bad fanfic than anything else.
I know exactly what you mean, I wished I'd just stopped at the end of 2. Thor spoke in an old fashioned manner, when I loved the eloquent left wing hippie he'd been in 1 and 2. They had absolutely no subtly with Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.

The only good thing is it was miraculously short.

It was almost like they forgot what they were writing.

I IMDB'd it.

Looks extremely boring
And this folks is what happens when movies don't have big ass robots and special effects these days. The truly great movies get passed on because they are not a "visual feast". This is a movie that I believe you should be forced to watch as it shows you what war is really like. And not just in the "holy shit you blew off kenny's legs on a beach!" movie. It shows the psychological effects that war has on people and is just an incredibly intense movie. Every scene will have you on the edge of your seat wondering if you will spot some guy with a cell phone that the military people don't see.

Honestly, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the movie industry as a whole if you do not see this movie because it looks "boring".
