We have all heard about games and other media being hyped up to be the greatest thing ever only for us to be left to wallow in our own disappointment. But has it ever happened in reverse to that where something is hyped to be terrible but when you experience it its..... alright

This happened to me recently. I finished ME3 which had an ending that had, to put it lightly, caused some controversy. When i finished it i found the ending to be acceptable, not brilliant, but acceptable.

I would like to know if anything similar to you? where something has been hyped to be bad and then turned out alright

(this doesn't have to be from games but can be from anything)

I'll agree with you about Mass Effect 3 although to be fair while the ending was certainly an overblown issue it was pretty much the only one there was for that game. Even the majority of the harshest critics of the ending made sure to stress that the majority of the game was still very good.

Also Bioshock 2, alot of people really seem to hate that game and I seriously don't understand why?

I'll go for the BlazBlue story modes. I mean come on, after UMVC3's nonexistant story, SCV's god awful attempt at a story, MK9's sorta acceptable story I think i'm allowed to assume all fighting games to have terrible stories.

Calamity Trigger I skipped because you need a flowchart to get the true ending and it's summed up nicely in Continuum Shift EX.

Continnum Shift Extend actually has seperate storylines for all characters some non-canon bad endings where terrible shit happens, a lot of surprisingly well written and funny joke endings, except Lambda's which is depressing. Did the writers forget what "Gag Ending" means for that one?

There's a load of plot words that sort of make sense until you shove them all into one paragraph and oh i'm confused now. The gist of it is that Hazama wins everything. Even when he loses in the True Ending.

Hazama could singlehandedly carry the game because of how entertaining he is. He's my new favourite villian.

"I'm not really the "fighting" type y'know?"

I'm liking Mu-12 suddenly, her pure, unadulterated, cold, focused and absolute hatred of everything and everyone in the world including herself is surprisingly refreshing.

The gameplay is really good and the online community is still alive. Too many people play Rags. I fucking hate that guy. Inferno Divider goes through EVERYTHING
