It was likely only awesome because you're remembering it with Nostalgia Goggles equipped. Even so, a remake of Space Jam would undoubtedly suck. Why can't we start making new classics for the kids to look fondly upon when they grow up now instead of rehashing the old, boring movies of our childhood?
I'd say "this" were it not for the fact that I would contribute nothing to the topic.
Okay, let's say this remake gets made. You know what'd happen? You'd watch it and say, "this is the shittiest pile of shitty shit since shit was invented." Remakes almost always suck. In fact, even suggesting a remake would imply you haven't seen many remakes.
I grew up playing the N64. Do you think I'd want to play a remake of
Rocket: Robot on Wheels? No, I wouldn't, because it would be inferior to the original. They'd try to turn in mainstream and cause it to lose it's retro charm and then suck.
Do you think a remake of
The Sandlot would be good? Just watch a few recently made remakes and then say it would be. Sorry if I'm being rude here, but I can't think of a different way of stating the obvious. It's inevitable now, since you just suggested it, some evil corporation is going to try it.
