So, this thought just popped into my head about a week ago: Space Jam was awesome and it was from my childhood. Lately alot of awesome things from my childhood are having movies made(or remade[or have sequels]).

Is there any way for this seminal piece of cinema to possibly be done again? And if so, who would replace the all-star cast of N.B.A. players and/or Looney Toons characters?

It was likely only awesome because you're remembering it with Nostalgia Goggles equipped. Even so, a remake of Space Jam would undoubtedly suck. Why can't we start making new classics for the kids to look fondly upon when they grow up now instead of rehashing the old, boring movies of our childhood?

If they did it again they'd better have fucking Bill Murray.

It better be Tiger Woods this time and not Jordan. Ha ha ha!! *whew* But, seriously I don't think they should remake it.

There is no way it could be redone. End of story. The movies was halfway about Michael Jordan leaving his shitty baseball career he never had to go back to the NBA. That part could never happen again...unless LeBron left the NBA to tryout for the NHL or something.

I can't honeslty say that a remake of Space Jam would be a good movie to watch. But I would still sit through it.

I'd say "this" were it not for the fact that I would contribute nothing to the topic.

Okay, let's say this remake gets made. You know what'd happen? You'd watch it and say, "this is the shittiest pile of shitty shit since shit was invented." Remakes almost always suck. In fact, even suggesting a remake would imply you haven't seen many remakes.

I grew up playing the N64. Do you think I'd want to play a remake of Rocket: Robot on Wheels? No, I wouldn't, because it would be inferior to the original. They'd try to turn in mainstream and cause it to lose it's retro charm and then suck.

Do you think a remake of The Sandlot would be good? Just watch a few recently made remakes and then say it would be. Sorry if I'm being rude here, but I can't think of a different way of stating the obvious. It's inevitable now, since you just suggested it, some evil corporation is going to try it.

Ya know the funny thing about that is space jam was widely panned and lots of people hated it for several different reasons. All those people are people I have never met though cause everyone I know liked that movie. For that movie I'm thinking something of a spirtual successor would do.

You know, at least the current Hollywood trend of remakes are ones that are kind of a good idea. For example Clash of the Titans- the final product might not have been good, but you can't argue that it wasn't a good idea at some point. Space Jam: Re-jammed (my hypothetical title) doesn't even have "good idea" going for it.

It was a pretty good movie when I was a kid, but then, I was a kid. It would probably suck remade, like a Small Soldiers remake or Cats and Dogs.

Well, Jordan is too busy wearing shirts, and without him, the movie would suck.
Also remakes are lame.

Spiritual successor? Look up "Looney Tunes: Back in Action."

Anyway, I'm with the camp that agrees that, with the exception of the Duck Dodgers series, nothing good has come of the Looney Tunes franchise since the 60s.

They'd probably make the looney toons crappy 3D CGI instead of the good old 2D animations.

That really sounds like a porn title.
Oh, good, I was starting to wonder why I stuck to hentai and the like. Because the titles don't usually give me the urge to bash my head against the wall.
Oh yeah, and titles like "midnight sleazy train" aren't horrible abominations. Have fun with your tentacle porn dude.
