Their would be a dagger in my gut saying that this will be a repeat of DN:F. It's never going to live-up to expectations.

I've kind of lost interest in it, seeing as the last outing was 5 years ago, and after that we were promised Episode 3 fairly soon.

At some point... I'm not dying for it. I'm close to the end of Ep.2, I'm aware that there's a cliffhanger, and I still don't care. Pew-pew guns with shooting action game, no matter how "herp storytelling through environments" it is, isn't worth this kind of wait. I'll get it once there's a badass complete boxset of the entire series.

Id just laugh when it turns into a DN:F. I've never really been interested in the Half-Life series, I played HL2, but I just couldn't get into it. Aside from the gravity gun, to me, it was just another shooter, and it wasn't even a good one at that. If it was L4D 3 or Portal 3, I would be so damn happy.

Pretty much this. Not gonna be bouncing off the walls, just happy to finally hear something about it. I love the series so it only makes sense that I buy it on day one.

When Gabe Newell got on stage to announce the game, we would finally complete our prank almost 10 years in the making when we as a community thought it would be funny to act like Half Life 2 was a good game and a worthy sequel to Half Life 1.
We will pay homage to a classic film, Gabe Newell has been crowned prom queen, he's on top of the world, that is when we shall strike.

I'd imagine we'll hear about nothing else but HL3 for a while, we'd all buy the thing on day one and receive another moderate game thats hyped to hell and go on with life waiting for them to release HL3: Episode 1.

I doubt Valve will release HL3 until they design another engine though, its happened with the last two releases.

Wow, they've finally come out with a new engine, great, hopefully the story is good, and soon they'll be a new counter strike - all good.

OR

Wow, they're still using that antiquated engine? ergh, c'mon valve, either don't do anything til the next console gen, or make a proper new engine.

Engine, engine, engine, that's what I want to see, and that's what it's all about.
