First, gender quotas are incredibly dumb and utterly pointless. Why would you want to have more of a particular demographic in science, if they are less likely to be interested in pursuing it at all? What good would having a particular set of reproductive organs do in a workplace?

Second, trans-gender female isn't good enough. If the policy is aimed at providing scholarships to proud vagina-owners then unless you have one, well, you are out. Totally trans-misogynistic, I know.

Oh, and have I already mentioned that gender-based quotas are bloody stupid?..

Anyway, quotas are stupid, whether they be on grounds of race or gender. Most companies want people who are the best for the job, not people who are only there to make up the numbers and look good on the staff records. If I got hired in a job just because I was black, I?d hate it because it?s patronising as hell. If I knew that and still took the job, it?d only be if I was desperate for financial reasons or something. But even so, I'd feel like I'd prostituted myself.

Sorry but I have to grit my teeth every time I see comments like this and I just can't seem to let them slide. Dolphins do not commit rape or murder! I do not understand why people keep on claiming this other than that it's become a meme. Dolphins cannot commit rape or murder because those acts are unique to human morality. This is why no one accuses a male dog of raping a female dog when they mate even though neither can give consent by definition. Sorry if I'm blathering unnecessarily, you were obviously joking, but I see this misconception crop up so much it's started to drive me wacky! Sorry if I'm blowing it out of proportion but AGGHNNRGGAHHRHR!
