God Hand:
Yes, the game will BUST YOUR TESTICLES/OVARIES...
But it's when you're kicking ass, and winning (duh), that I felt totally epicly cool!

Games in which I felt god-like. SSX3...
I was actually thinking of saying that myself. If you get really good at SSX it really makes you feel like a god of snowboarding. In the same way I talked about DMC, if you really master the game's mechanics you feel like an unstoppable cyclone of awesomeness. Skate was fairly good at that too with it's flicking mechanics. I got really good at that. I used to own everyone online just by stringing together endless flip trick and manual combos, while they were attempting some crazy line over some jumps or some shit.

also from dust. you are in-game basically a god. you have no mortal shape and you can move sand, water & lava around (until to much water/lava comes and kills everyone in every village, YAY FOR TSUNAMIS!)
Yeah, From Dust is a worth spiritual sequel to Populous, just as much as Black & White was. Best XBLA game I have ever played. Cannot wait for MP in the second one.

Not my first choice, but I'll say it anyway:
Running DeadMines* in WoW at lvl50+ in vanilla, or later, can make you feel unstoppable after you've pulled all of the mobs in one charge then dispatched them in an instant.

[small]*Substitute for any other dungeons you've run at an excessively high level.[/small]

Morrowind and Timeshift on easiest difficulty, Oh they died by the thousands. Morrowind can be broken so easily if you know where the good loots are. The time powers in Timeshift allow you to play trickster god with all the enemies: Freeze time, walk up, fire explosive bolt into their knee, walk off, unfreeze time, giggle hysterically.
I'm also tempted to say Two Worlds as well because for me once I get to Ashos I'm set. Massacre the city, get uber-katana.

The sims, you can literally play grim reaper with them, burn them to death, starve them, have them drown and the like.

Simcity, same shit different scale.
Black and White also fits into this category since you pretty much are GOD in that game.

For the more not ment to be god but damn powerful, the Pokemon games and alos Budokai Tenkaichi (DBZ) if you go like Janemba vs Yamcha or something like that.

I'm highly sceptical to people saying Skyrim, I mean even if you had a character that could stealth kill everyone the whole world of Skyrim always treats you like some unkown peasant. Yeah, anyway back on topic...

For me, InFamous 1 and 2, near the ending you're pretty damn powerful engaged in often epic battles. Same goes for Bioshock, then there's GoW3 which makes you feel pretty damn badass at times... And when you're doing really well in a multiplayer game o_O

And lets not forget strategy games for obvious reasons.

Devil May Cry 4. That game does such a good job of making it feel like you're making progress with each death and that's a big part of why it's my personal favourite of the series. It both flatters you and kicks you in the balls constantly.

New Vegas does a good job too. Since everyone has their plan entirely hinge on you you can just play them off against each other however you choose.

Prototype and it's sequel prototype 2. I just loving standing in the middle of 20 soldiers all shooting assault rifles at me and not caring. It's also fun as hell to disguise yourself as a soldier and then trick the enemy troops into thinking another soldier is actually you XD

The second one lost a few fun features but I can now turn enemies into exploding bio bombs.

Morrowind. First off after advancing the main quest to a certain point everyone treats you as some kind of divine saviour anyway. Secondly because you end up killing two (maybe even three) divine entities thus proving yourself more powerful than them. And thirdly because of the Soul Trap buff, which - should you indulge it - allows certain enchantments to become permanent.

Afterlife - a sadly under-rated SimCity style game from Lucasarts where you are tasked with constructing both the Heaven and Hell for the inhabitants of an alien world known as 'The Planet'.

Every RTS ever (for obvious reasons) although special mention goes to Genewars for placing you in the position of having to genetically engineer new species to colonize planets devastated by interstellar war.

They always put me more in the mindset of a World War 1-era General.

"You're going over the top!"
"But we're badly outnumbered and have no means of escape!"
"Yes but hopefully you'll be able to burn down their barracks before you die horribly."

I don't think I've ever felt so powerful in any game as I have in League of Legends (or any MOBA.) It's probably because you get a sense of progression - you start weak, and after about 20 minutes, boom, you're a fucking juggernaut. The contrast really helps make you feel more powerful.

Part of the feeling of godliness comes from just the sheer satisfaction when you pull off a ridiculous play, like managing to turn a fleeing 2v5 Baron fight into an ace for your team against all odds.
The real power is when you get fed though - when you're more powerful than every player on their team. You're strong enough to take down a player in a matter of seconds, and if you're really fed, you could probably take their entire team solo; something that is basically a Hail Mary, about as rare as batting a perfect game. It's next to impossible, but my god does it feel right.

I dunno, there's something about the mindless obedience of your units to walk against their will into almost certain death just to grind the enemy down in a long and bitter struggle of attrition that gives the player a feeling of absolute ... ... yes, you're right, a WWI general.

Vampire the Masquerade, max stealth max melee Nosferatu. You can literally just turn invisible and run around stabbing people. Even the final boss lost me if I just stood still.

Steamrolling the Necron capital with Khorne beserkers made me feel badass

"I AM INVINCIBLE!"

On League of Legends I'm pretty much godlike when I play these champs:

-Ryze
-Veigar
-Xerath
-BROLAF!

Oh and mount and blade when I can kill an enemy army without losing a single man on my side.

EDIT: Blowing up Nazi testicles on Sniper Elite V2. YES!

MechWarrior 4 and to some degree Mercenaries.

Taking out an Altas with a Cougar? Hell yes. Makes you feel quite godlike seeing as just one alpha strike from that beast WILL wreck your shit good. Also get me into a Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) and i'll make it dance. the first time you know i'm there is when my LRM's swarm you slightly before i close in an finish you off with ma lazerz :eek:D
