Hey ubisoft, you know WHY no so few buys your PC version:
-Low quality port with Console-resolution texture assets
-Poorly ported controls yet with mixed gamepad support
-Often multiple layers of redundant DRM for a tiny game
-Treating paying customers like pirates they might just ACT like pirates
-General sense of pretentiousness from the serious to even the more playful games, pretension doesn't gel well with PC gamer demographic's preferences.
-Your high concepts almost always boil down to simplistic boring gameplay this doesn't fool the more clued in PC crowd.

I have a theory, if the developer doesn't want the game on PC it means either they are a douchenozzle who says "this IS a console game" or they don't really believe in the game being worth it on its own merits.

Everyone knows with the input and output options of PC you can almost always get a better experience of a game on PC, the fact that a developer wouldn't care about this just shows they aren't in this to make a really good game, but rather are in it just for the money and since most sales are on console then PC is irrelevant.

The thing is people are quite happy to buy PC games, like indy game Minecraft that has sold 7 million copies. That's about 20% buy-to-pirate rate compared to Ubisoft's 7-5%. So what is Mojang doing 3-4x better than Ubisoft?

HOW LONG is it going to take for the games industry to learn from the music industry and give up their awful anti-consumer, anti-artist practices. The artist got as little as TEN PERCENT of what was paid. Why should anyone feel entitled to pay when almost 90% goes to people who never created any of the actual creative content!!! And that's before tax.

Music industry gave the people what they wanted:
-Got rid of intrusive DRM
-Give more to the consumers in terms of quality/content
-Lower prices for the consumer
-Bigger cut for the actual creators

You know how I feel when a publisher releases a game only on console, it's like releasing a film only in the cinema. Yeah, I know it's where you make most of your money and it's a very controllable and predictable market but the real connoisseurs want their own experience, they want the Blu-ray for their home theatre to get the best experience, not the lowest common denominator in some compromised theatre/Xboxlive.

The danger for Ubisoft is that if it's not doing to come from the top down then it's going to come from the bottom up and Ubisoft is going to be left high and dry.

MY PRAYERS! THEY WORKED!

This makes me very happy. And people should stop complaining just because it's by Ubisoft. Judging happens after playing the game, guys, not before.
Except that we're not judging the game, we're judging the company. And a good game does not magically whisk away all wrongdoing.

You're free to play and enjoy the game, and I hope you do enjoy it, but I'll not be buying it because I do not see the point in supporting a company that doesn't want my business.
Fair enough. Personally, I don't really care if the company hates me for whatever reason as long as they make good games and as long as I can play and enjoy said games. I hope the game doesn't disappoint me.
Anyway, whatever floats your boat, I reckon. Feel free to judge, then.

Was that some glitching in the game trailer at 0:44?

Some guy over at Gamespot has an interesting theory:

"UbiSoft's thinking : Oh, we said something stupid and called all our customers pirates, how do we manifest the spooky numbers we made up in our last statement while still proving to our investors that our DRM is a success?

UbiSoft's solution : Hey, take that crappy title that flopped on consoles half a year ago, scale up the textures, slap on our DRM and sell it as a "enhanced" PC port, then when nobody buys it use these low sales numbers to valid our point of piracy.

And just about nobody, having read reviews and seen gameplay videos, will buy it.

Only those few unfortunate souls that fall for all the marketing will.

Nice try, UbiSoft, looking forward to exactly that announcement of you in about a month or two."

I doubt Ubisoft would be capable of or even bother with such a long-winded scheme, but if it did happen, I couldn't say I'd be completely surprised.

Thanks Ubisoft, rest assured 93-95% of the copies of this version of the game that will be played will be played for FREE, well at least according to your genius estimate [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/119200-Ubisoft-Puts-PC-Piracy-Rate-at-93-95]. So Thanks again for "wasting" money on the effort.
