Hey guys! i am 17 years old, living in Australian and i want to get into the video game industry. I am currently assembling a team to make mods and eventually full-on games with. Ever heard the phrase 'putting the cart before the horse'?

That aside, are you a published author or journalist? Not talking about a having a blog, but do you have any written work either in print or with a organisation that produces such content and publishes it online?

IF you really want to learn about game development you're not going to be able to rely on others to educate you. You can learn a lot from teachers and professionals, but the onus is on you to do the grunt work. As a well-known designer put it: "You've got to steal your education, no-one is going to hand it to you."

All the best though. And if you haven't already been doing so, take a look online for various competitions or contests, don't worry about people stealing your ideas and such, that rarely happens, and in this case the point is to get your name out there, and to show that you can write. There's no sense just telling people you can write or direct.
