Elvis Prestley. I haven't really heard a song of his I like. His voice annoys me.

But he sold metric buttloads of records, and he's still popular despite being dead living in a trailer park in Wichita, Kansas for the last thirty years, so I'm not going to say that he sucks, just that I don't like him.

Agreed on Tim And Eric, that show is the antithesis of funny.

Also, Napoleon Dynamite. Everyone thinks it's so great, but I never laughed, or even thought something was mildly funny at all, through the entire movie.

The weird Monty Python episodes. I don't mean the classic ones. I mean the other ones that are, for some reason, required knowledge for every "clever" person (read: not clever). Most of the stuff is good, but some is just terrible.

I never really got the whole "emo" movement. Why do I need to listen to music that tells me how much life sucks when I can just turn on the news? Music is my escape from all that, I don't need it to be sounding off the same way the news does. The only other one would be reality television, never did understand the appeal of it.
I reccomend The Lonely Island or Wierd Al Yankovic.

I agree. Napoleon Dynamite really bugged me. I think I actually fell asleep during it.

The Dark Knight

And Batman Begins for that matter.

As a Batman fan for, well, all my life, I cannot understand why this perverse travesty is so universally accepted. nor why such boring film are even considered good.

All reality shows in general, except the ones one Tru TV (formerly Court TV).
And Twilight, only read the first book & it was good butI read it almost four years ago, I just hate hearing people talk about it.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

I've been told I have a great sense of humor. I can find humor in anything. Stupid, inane things, evil things, racist/dead baby jokes, anything that's meant to be twisted or funny, I find funny.

What I DON'T get is how this show is so popular, and how they keep getting celebrities to appear. I find about 1/10 skits actually amusing (Zack Galafinakis and his gravy salesman), but 90% is drivel. Okay, so you wrote a song about having long legs, and aminate yourself as walking in the clouds. Should I be laughing?

I actually fear that this is what the next generation finds funny...

Does anyone here like the show?
Good God no. I have a friend who likes the show. She forced me to watch a few episodes and I can honestly say, I've never come closer to wanting to kill myself just to end the suffering. (or maybe I should say I came close to wanting to murder Tim and Eric, and I'm usually very non-violent)

As for my "I don't get it" moments, I'm gonna have to go with pretty much anything relating to pop culture. That goes for music, shows, movies, and games. (and to a lesser extent, art) Most things within pop culture have absolutely no lasting relevance to anything or anyone and simply pander to the general masses self-absorbed emotions and sexual desires.

Too cynical?

I'd say I never really understood Harry Potter *ducks flaming balls of grease* I mean, it had potential in the first few books but afterwards it went completely downhill and J.K Rowling's newbie writing abilities began to show through. I just never liked it all that much.

Twilight or anything by Stephenie Meyer (yes, I've read Host). I read a lot of fanfiction and it reads exactly like some sort of twelve year old girl cooked up a self-insert sue and stuck her in the universe. Whereupon she becomes a horrendous Mary Sue and everyone lusts after her, etcetera. The raping of vampires was also disheartening. I mean, I have no problem with thinking up creative ideas about them (P.N Elrod and Robin Mckinley are GAWDS in that respect) but the idea that her vampires are sparkly so they can catch humans easier... utter bullshit. NO ONE is going to run towards or otherwise be fascinated by someone who looks like their a fireworks display on the fourth of July. More than likely people would run away and never look back, scared of the sparkling monstrosity behind them.

Ack, an essay on Twilight. *cough*

I also never really 'got' Napoleon Dynamite. I sat through it, mostly bored and wondering how in the world what I was seeing could be a cult classic or whatever. Same with the Blair Witch Project as some of the scenes were scary but the entire thing was just kind of... meh.

I don't 'get' ANY First Person Shooter's but that may be because I'm more of an exploratory person... or Sim Killer.

Hum, I could list more but I'm tiiiired and my bed is calling with a voice as sweet as liquid sugar.. mmmm.... I think I've written enough anyhow...

I know! I was forced to watch it last night, and it was like "yeah, it's pretty standard" and JEBUS I barely socialise and I've still heard enough about Twilight to last me a lifetime.

Mostly everything that comes on TV. Discovery Channel and National Geographic at least cast out some interesting things, the rest is just rubbish in the Netherlands. By the looks of it it's somewhat the same as in the US. Basically hospital series, crime investigation series, or hospital crime investigation series, or hospital investigation crime series, or absurd reality shows. Disgusting and boring.
