I really don't get whats so good about that game, I know its not out yet but the way people are getting hyped up about.

The movement looks REALLY clunky, in the videos I've seen you get stuck on little things in the floor and have trouble passing through doors.

The Combat looks REALLY slow, you have to stop moving/move slowly to aim properly? When has that ever worked?

The AI is either retarded or its handicapped to balance the difficulty that comes from the way the game seems to be controlled. Zombies just stand on the other side of the room waiting for you to kill them.

I know a lot of people are really hyped for this game, so could you tell me why its so great?

Clearly you didn't play RE4...

RE5 looks to be just an upgrade of that system and given how much fun 4 was, I expect 5 to be quite enjoyable.

I think the biggest reason people found RE4 to be ZOMG FUN is because, in comparison to the rest of the RE series, it was a hell of a lot better. Personally, I found it to be all right, though I did enjoy the feeling of it. I am, however, interested in RE5 for co-op, but with Left 4 Dead my interest has been a bit mitigated since it seems people actually want to pay attention to the zombie genre again.

Jeez, people complain that they switch up the gameplay, then complain because this game is too much like RE4? Does anything make anybody happy anymore?

This may come as a surprise, but we're not an amalgamated Legion-type monster. I never once complained about any changes being made from RE4. RE4, gameplay wise, was rather mediocre. It's why I'm annoyed now that it looks like it'll just be RE4 instead of continuing the tradition of fixing the gameplay.

If I was talking to you, I would have quoted you, no? I was in fact responding to the OP, where all the complaints mentioned were present in RE4, and other games.

Take for example, slow combat. If anything, the earlier games were much slower, RE4 actually gave you some action, a chance to get some adrenaline going. Also, clunky movement. What RE game hasn't had incredibly clunky movement? I think RE4 was a step in the right direction, and it was much easier to move your character.

So, LOOY, what do you think would make it better? You don't like aspects that have been carried over from older games, yet you don't like the new style that has been around since RE4, kind of just sounds like it's not the game for you, right?

If it works as it should I think the co op aspect is an improvement from RE4.

More like if you have nothing to really base your opinions on but screenshots and videos, you shouldn't really go judging it.

And since when has slow combat been an inherent flaw of a game?

All games should be judged on their own merit. However, the game isn't out, and purely speaking about expectations, I think you should expect more of the same from RE4, with some tweaks here and there, nothing huge, and an added co-op mode. From what I've heard, from people that have played the demo, it plays a lot like RE4, so of course comparisons will be made.

Meh, I'll see how it turns out. Truth is, I prefer my zombies only in particular flavors (supernatural or virus spawned, preferred). Parisites just don't fit in for me, and that's why I could never get into RE4 (the dumb girl was another). Heh, similar situation when I found out Dead Rising zombies are combo mind control/brain bug trash...

Since RE5 seems to be continuing with that similar story aspect, I'm not very interested in that title. I'll give it a go, I suppose, but it's definately not a 'run out and buy' for me. But hey, that's just story that turns me off. The mechanics were pretty solid in RE4, and look so as well for RE5.

To each their own... I have never played any other RE, and hadn't played any shooting game on a pad before RE4. But I thought it was pretty awesome.

The way the enemies reacted to shots to legs, weapon, head, etc., dodged, covered their head and used shields. The blind prisoners. The hidden treasure. And so on.

If you know of a better game with more stuff like this, I'm all ears.

Because it looks like RE4, and RE4 was good. Unless RE5 has a major problem that RE4 did not have, it will be just as good, if not better.

The thing about Resident Evil is a series is that its so bad, its good. In between laughing at the horrible dialogue, you feel a hightened sense of fear from the aggrivation from mediocre game controls and actual suprise. Its a remarkably ingenious concept.

My god, it's ingenues!

But I loved RE4, and if RE5 is more of the same with a little bit more combat, a face lift, and the ability to play it on my current generation console then I most certainly will be getting it.

Most shooters involve at least some reaction to being shot in a specific region and secrets have been in the genre since at least Doom if not Castle Wolfenstein. I'm not saying RE4 was bad, just it's not exactly stellar and deserving of all the praise it got, though it probably got it because RE was a long standing series that did claustrophobia well, even though the controls were absolutely terrible. They epitomize the concept of tank controls, and RE4 was a step up from that.

The correct answer is you shouldn't judge it until you play RE5. People are just hyping the hell out of RE5, in both positive and negative columns. Graphically, of course, it looks spectacular. I love how people are making a stink that it's set in Africa, and you shoot black people. Only thing I am really excited about is the co-op play, and the weapons fast switch. Let's see what happens. *Gets the popcorn ready*
