I don't hold it against the new fans, they're just liking what they like, but I do hold it against the designers.Vault101 said:granted my only experience with him is Playstation allstars, which...ok isn't the best Idea of what he's like really
I mean yeah, he clearly is an asshole, but honestly for whatever reason I find myself more drawn to liking him than hating him, I don't know what or why that is
now old dante....I don't like at all
I did play the original devil may cry...granted not for long, I didn't like it very much, and I really don't like the original dante, I think my main problem is his apearance...he's got that stupid anime reject look, with that dumb shit-eating grin
perhpas new dantes more "grounded" apearance helps me identify with him more..and really I'm not going on much here aside from apearance and general impressions, I admit
[b/]discussion vale[/b] before you acuse me of trolling or being an idiot (the latter is ok) do you hold it against "new" fans for liking the "rebooted" version of your favorite IP? do you think people should try and aproach things with more sunjectivity than nostalga/emotion?
My objection to the new Dante isn't that they changed him, but that they changed him into something so bland. I got into the Devil May Cry games because Dante was a bit different from the sea of moody, foul-mouthed, angry, generic guys who were desperately trying to be macho and rebellious. The fact that he seemed to be having fun with it all and took most of the stuff going on around him as a joke made him stand out a bit.
Also the new soundtrack isn't my sort of music, the world looks a bit too brown and the half-angel-half-demon thing sounds a bit fan-ficy.
