It was nice not to be water soluble. But I still much preferred the level structure in AC1, it felt sort of like Mega Man... you know from the beginning - there are 9 baddies to kill.. and each level allowed you to get to know your target before the big reveal.. and every target had something profound and confusing (at the moment) to say. AC2 didn't seem to have any of that.KwaggaDan said:You forgot the ability to dive into water from giant towers without dying, or the ability to hide under bridges to avoid chasing guards...Estocavio said:This - The main thing is that in Part 1 it was actually slightly challenging sometimes, rather than you being the ultimate noble harbinger of death with oversized shoulders and a bad taste in clothing, even for the period.necromanzer52 said:Assassin's creed. you can actually hear the dialogue in the PC version? my PS2 version I never could hear it. Even turning the volume up to max the music would always drown out the voices entirely.Zhukov said:Prince of Persia: Sands of TIme.
I played it with a friend on his console back in 2003 when it came out. Found it pretty boring.
Recently noticed it on Steam for $10. "Oh hey, that's that game that Yahtzee is always praising to high heaven, let's have a look". Enjoyed it immensely. $10 well spent.
I'm pretty sure the reason for my liking it so much more the second time around is because I actually payed attention the characters and dialog and whatnot.
Its even better when you hide from the guards who you were just trying to kill buy standing in a group of 3 people and spinning in circles.KwaggaDan said:You forgot the ability to dive into water from giant towers without dying, or the ability to hide under bridges to avoid chasing guards...Estocavio said:This - The main thing is that in Part 1 it was actually slightly challenging sometimes, rather than you being the ultimate noble harbinger of death with oversized shoulders and a bad taste in clothing, even for the period.necromanzer52 said:Assassin's creed. The exact same thing happened to me, me and my friend bought the new ToS to the wii and when we were trough with that one we thought, I remember the first one was better, he called the next day and said he had borrowed it from a friend so we co-op:ed it and it was really great!!chromewarriorXIII said:I recently replayed Tales of Symphonia after playing at least 2 years ago. When I beat it that's what went through my mind. "Wow, I remember it being good but not this good!" In fact it's probably become my favorite game now (but that's for another discussion).
So Escapists, were there ever times where you played a game and enjoyed it, and then played it again after a while and enjoyed it even more? What game was it and what do you think made it so good that second time around?
For me it was because when I originally played it I didn't understand everything as well as I did this time. I wish I had forgotten more things though because that ruined some of the surprises.

PC version has that problem too. But it was never so bad that I couldn't hear what they were saying.Altorin said:you can actually hear the dialogue in the PC version? my PS2 version I never could hear it. Even turning the volume up to max the music would always drown out the voices entirely.
Um. Actually I meant I liked the first game a lot more the second time I played it. Not that the second is a lot better. (It is but that's not what I was talking about).Estocavio said:Its even better when you hide from the guards who you were just trying to kill buy standing in a group of 3 people and spinning in circles.KwaggaDan said:You forgot the ability to dive into water from giant towers without dying, or the ability to hide under bridges to avoid chasing guards...Estocavio said:This - The main thing is that in Part 1 it was actually slightly challenging sometimes, rather than you being the ultimate noble harbinger of death with oversized shoulders and a bad taste in clothing, even for the period.necromanzer52 said:Assassin's creed. Uh... yeah, this. I picked up my Gamecube a little while ago for lack of anything better to do, and went "Huh. I never finished ToS all those years ago. I don't even think I ever got through the first disc." Next thing I know, I'm addicted. It's definitely on my top few games.Rarhnor said:Yes. With the exact same game...huh?
I replayed Symphonia just a week ago. I enjoyed it very much. It's both challenging and a positive narrative experience, more so, than I remember being it during my first playthrough a year ago. The only difference is, that it IS my no.1 game.
Say good-bye to another 30+ hours of you life (assuming you replaying it from the beginning).Donnyp said:This. Now i gotta go back and play it...thanks lol.chromewarriorXIII said:Tales of Symphonia

Hah I'm glad that you liked the ending of GOW one. Did you enjoy having to fight your clones after fighting Ares? It was near impossible on God Mode. I played it on the GoW Collection also and I don't understand why there is no save point between the Ares battle and the battle of the clones. If I quit I'd have to fight Ares again.starfox444 said:I played the very first God of War many years ago. I'm replaying the collection now and enjoying every bit of it. Especially after the way the storyline went in the following games, I really feel that out of the main trilogy, the first God of War had the most satisfying ending.
