So quite a while back I set my computer to accept my fingerprints, or the normal windows password to log in. Problem is, I've used the scanner to log in so many times, I plain forgot what the windows password is. If something were to happen to the scanner, I'd be in a bit of a bind. Anyone know a way to fix this problem? That doesn't involve reinstalling windows...

Your avatar is perfect for this. Sometimes you just have to take an hour and think about it, or just keep putting passes in until you remember it.

Registry editing... .

EDIT: Can you change the password from the control panel? That worked for me once...

I would but to change it, it requires the current password.

How about changing your password?

Then there's also safemode, where you can bypass all of the login stuff and just make administrative changes freely. If you haven't set the password for it, that is.
