Yeah, I'm in the opposite situation. I've read the comic, but haven't seen the movie.

Yes I too saw the movie

Personally I found it quite good, but tad too much gore. Especially when that guy got his arms sawed off. I saw it as unnecessary

It is agreed, both the Watchmen comic and movie are good, everybody should own both.

Movie was mediocre, it wasn't bad, it just didn't have the same effect on me as the comic. After I finished reading the graphic novel, I just sat there for awhile astonished at how awesome it was.

I thought it was good and was a refreshing look at superheroes. Still, I found it to be a bit bloated and messy in terms of plot and dialogue. I personally prefer the visceral purity of 300.

Really? o_O Granted, I haven't read the comics but I thought the movie was terrible.

The movie to me in a word is it kicked *BLEEP*. It gave us a look of how (yeah its far off) superheros might act, and how they may see society.

My, how odd a number of people show distaste for the film. I thought it was not only one of the best superhero films ever, but the best film in general since...well, going on a few years now. Not counting Dorian Gray, that was just awesome.
The alternate history and constant reference to the great "joke" made it a bit of a thinking mans movie.

Never watched it, but isn't there a naked guy with his dick just hanging out in every scene?
Yep. In every scene. Even the flashbacks. Even when the plot has nothing to do with him, he's just there in background. Every single scene in the whole movie has a naked man in it.

I wanted to leave. Literally, after the Bob Dylan-accompanied introduction I got up, shouted "Well, it's downhill from here," and turned to walk out before my girlfriend pulled me back down by my shirt and said "You be quiet!"

I wasn't wrong, by the way. Zack Snyder is the Uwe Boll of filmmaking.

Uwe Boll is a film-maker, BTW.

I didn't really like it, so I'm going to watch it again right after I buy the comic/novel/whatever the hell it is that might make me understand it.
