I Freaking Hate Shotos!!!

So for those of you who are aware of Street Fighter IV and how the online works that everyone either picks Ryu, Ken, Akuma, or Sagat. All of which are characters with High priority uppercut moves and fireball attacks. Now since Super Street Fighter IV has been announced they'e revealed 10 new characters and at least one new ultra combo for each character. So why is it when I went online for the first time, expecting only the people who were gonna use the new content to get the game, I ended up facing 1 Ryu player and 3 Ken players? And it's not like any of them were using the new ultras or something cuz then I might have let it slide, but no, they were using the original ultra and doing the same crap the did in SFIV!!! WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST STICK TO THAT INSTEAD OF BUYING SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV!?!?! /rant

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this?

Freaking Love El Fuerte! I've been using Ibuki recently though, she was my favorite character in 3rd Strike.

Those characters are the best ones to be really, the combos flow well and they're power houses especially Sagat.
IIRC Sagat is the strongest in the game and has some kind of silly combo you can abuse.

However, in the realm of fighting games it's all about having the combos don't pat to be the most efficient rape you can be.
Why pick new characters if the ones you used before do everything you want and do it best?

i play fighting games, i play Ryu cause hes defensive, with a strong range game, fast and safe moves with good anti air. Basically a good all around character. He's fun too.

Have you played any of the new characters? Juri can pull out some retarded ass combos, Cody does massive damage with his knife, T.Hawk just does massive damage, Adon has some great anti-air attacks, Dee Jay is just cool, and Ibuki has come crazy combos and mix-up opportunities. (Those are all of the new characters I've tried out so far.)

It was the fact that they were 4 consecutive bouts but yea, maybe I was a little quick to judgement.

Just beat them and move on, I don't actually have super yet but from what I ear Balrog is almost exactly the same so against Shotos I will jut pick Ultra 1, focus their fireballs to dash ultra them if they keep throwing them, bait and punish the uppercut and get my free win.
I'm liking the look of Cody though but from what I've seen his Ultra II goes through fireballs so my strategy won't change.
Seriously guys, bait and punish.

OP, have you tried modes other than ranked? Maybe people will being trying out new stuff in the modes were they don't lose anything.

Yes, I have, and all lack the sheer kick-ass that is Dhalsim.

Good to know someone plays as him. I just don't see the appeal, which has worried me about him. Until now, of course.
