So yeah after a good month of not playing new vegas I decided to go out and buy some ms points and get the Dead Money DLC and Honest Hearts DLC. I download them then go on New Vegas. New patch comes up and im like w/e. But now I am still waiting here for my game to load. It's been over 5 mins and my screen went dark on the loading screen. I just had to move my analog stick to take it back to normal color. This never heppened before, any advice, suggestions, comments, complaints........rants?

NEVER rely on autosaves. That goes for Fallout 3 as well. This is for stability and gameplay reasons.

New Vegas always has flaws.
Hell, today I walked back into my room to find a flashing red ring on my xbox for leaving it on after a few days of hardcore Honest Heart-ing (It went away after shutting it on and off again, false rings have happened to me a few times with Fallout games before.)

Well, the screen going dark is actually your xbox turning the lights down so that you don't wreck your TV. It does it with everything.

The loading... that's not a specific issue I've encountered, but perhaps you should load an earlier save or start over? If you haven't played it for a month or so, starting again might be an option. I know if I've been away from a game for more then a month I usually feel more at home starting from scratch then jumping into a game where I don't know where I'm going or what I'm doing.

As for the DLC, particularly Dead Money as I haven't played Honest Hearts yet, get ready to stretch the limits of your patience. It's a great DLC in terms of story, setting, theme and characters, but I found that every gameplay element of the questline was just there to piss me off.

lol i managed to fix the endless loading screen by using a no cd crack on my steam copy, went to honest hearts, ran to first checkpoint, then back to the enter zone and i'd finished it...it's well and truly broke. I never had an issue with Dead money though.

Patch is broken on consoles. Or on the 360 at least, not sure about the PS3.

*Courtesy of Obsidian. Bethesda are currently making a patch to fix the patch.

A PATCH TO FIX A PATCH?
Actually no, Bethesda "quality assures" everything. In fact nothing can get done without Bethesda's permission.
"Bethesda"
"Quality Assurance"

lol

This.

Also: Have more than one save. I usually keep three different saves, just in-case one of them corrupts. (or I need to go back to an earlier time)

Uh, didn't they fix that broken patch for the 360 near the end of April/beginning of May?

They did patch that patch (blew my weekend of playing since it dropped on a friday) and had it fixed up by sunday for the 360. Unless the patch for the patch fucked the DLC which the original patch was for.

It was for a different issue.

Yes, a patch to fix the previous patch now needs a patch to fix the current patch.
