Now. I couldnt really find a good thread title but i have a problem with certain parts of my class. To understand this people might need some background info.

People in class is all at the age of 16.

The class is in a school in Denmark so everybody speaks Danish.

Basicly the issues im having is several events where some people in here have proven themself to be impolite and disrespectfull even to a certain degree racist or discrimminating.

Event 1. We have a middleeastern guy in class that doesnt understand Danish. Since classes are in Danish he usually gets the right to sit with a laptop in the back of the room. Rest of the students dont understand this and pick on him... IN Danish.

Event 2. A Friend of mines ex-girlfriend (14) Had naked pictures of her exposed on the internet by her new ex. He seems the type that will just do vigilantee justice (He is really a good person) but i suggested he reportet it to the police. One day after the event he brought the girl with him to class next day he was skipping class. The whole day went by with people talking behind his back about them doing it back at his place, i dont think he would have so it was completely out of place.

Event 3. A guy was sitting with a book in the reccess and everybody looked over at him as if he was a piece of trash somebody had forgotten to pick off the couch. I mean just because you dont like to read books doesnt mean its wrong?

Event 4. Somebody on one side of a table was playing the BIG BLACK DILDO BLUES on full on volume, while i was silently playing Adagio for Strings (Samuel Barber) And one of the people listening to the very creative lyrics bow over the table and tells me that what i was listening to was lame. (Honestly its not that bad but still, disrespecting)

Event 5. (Yet to come) When i hold a speech about this in Englishclass im sure half of them will have their face buried in either a cellphone or a laptop or talking with eachother. This is something i want stopped...

Edit: Its in 90 Minutes btw.

Any Suggestions?

90% of teens are douche bags and or bitches. 75% of them do not realize they are douche bags. the 25% that do realize, have embraced it.

This, is a fact of life. It CANNOT be changed. Ever.

I'm sorry.

I had that happen.

Not cool.

Not cool at all.
Actually its not really a friend, i dont have time for REAL friends when i spent all day at a computer. But i still helped him out and i consider him a good guy, so yea.

Cant give up without trying, even if they are idiots they are good classmates at many points best class i've had yet. I dont want them to grow up not having manners, i mean if they dont learn it before they are grownups they will either be 1. Doomed, or 2. Have to pay a truckload of cash for a School that teaches them how to be polite.

I'm sorry I can't help you. In truth, if they are that bad, I don't think there is anything you can do. Any attempts to make them more polite or respectful will be met with disrespect and rudeness; they'd have to respect you before you could get them to respect you (a bit of a conundrum isn't it?). Honestly though, I hope someone else is able to think of something, because I'm drawing massive blanks (maybe because even if what I've done hasn't been well received, people at my schools have always been respectful enough to let me do it).

Sounds like Danish people are real pricks.
Oh, right, that's all teenagers, nevermind.
I usually dealt with these issues by starting fights, but I'm guessing you want a non-violent answer to your problems. Make a documentary about it in 90 minutes with your cell phone camera.
Sorry, no good at the non-violent route.

I think they do respect parts of me. I mean the class itself is a gathering of the trash that didnt make it in public school that i was forced into due to lack of social skills.

Im known as the smartest guy in class, i would have taken it more as a compliment if the rest of the class was a little smarter.. Also i must have gotten tired staying up preparing the speech. I mean i thought the bolded CAN was three black hearts for a second there o_O

Bringing it up is an important first step- it doesn't matter how you do it. Just don't name names publicly up front or it will seem like you're just picking on them same as they picked on you.

Again, what im trying to pull might be a dick move. What i have prepared is like a 5 minutes speech in the last class of the last day before i have to be gone for like 2-4 weeks. Originally it was ment to be as provoking as possible to get all the anger out of my system but i changed it a bit. Removing all the names from and not stating any of the events of reffering to. Just naming the stuff generally.

What a bunch of DICKS sweet little kids!

Take this from a fellow Dane, who was also (DUN DUN DUUUN) a teenager... Several years ago. You can't do anything about it. Every class is going to have its problems, that's just the cycle of life mate. And, as several people have already stated, you're all teenagers. They'll get over it. Well, most of them will.

Feeeee----- What depressing answers. This is peoples future we are talking about, didnt anyone he successfully change something?

Again, i ciould retain the moment of suprise till the very moment we have to do the speech about music (In my case i changed it a little off topic)

Or i could tell a teacher that im going to. (They are not very understanding)

This class has managed to give me the hugest of Egoboosts. With everybody not understanding anything about everything and my understanding a little of everything. I just seem to beat them at every single point, even life. Doesnt mean i like it here, its not depressing with the class it self, its depressing watching how theese kids here have sooo little driving them. One fo the girls i talked to havent been to school for two years before being thrown over here. Which means she knows about the same as a 12yearold.

Edit - 50 Minutes. Getting a bit cold feet.

Well the good news is that most people eventually grow out of being a teenager and start behaving a little more civilized (though the cynic in me says they just get better at being nice to your face). If you feel like you really have to try to make a difference, I'd suggest that you might be better off working on an individual basis. Pay close attention to your classmates' reactions to your speech and if you notice someone looking a little ashamed you might have a chance at becoming a good influence upon them. Mostly it just takes time and one or two good influences for people to start behaving better.

I'd like to warn you though that you might not like what happens in reaction to your comments.

Good luck if you decide to go through with it :D

Its Englishclass. Chances are half of them wont understand a third of what im trying to say and the other half wont even bother listening. This is mostly to get it out of my system and to send a message to the teacher that somethig is wrong.

I don't WANT to recommend violence, but it did work for me.

I was a violent little b**ch in elementry school (& in therapy), so my negative reputation allowed me no avoid annoyance from others by the time I was in highschool, you know, because no one wanted red ants dumped all over them. I also slammed a school bully's face into a locker for breaking into said locker & stealing my wallet.

I didn't grow up bad though; I'm 27 & I haven't punched anyone in the face or started a food fight in 15 years. I got branded as a "ticking timebomb / inactive landmine" that no one weanted to set off.

I dunno if that would work for anyone today though; you can get sued just for sneezing on a person these days.

Violence is out of the question. Completely.

Do something outrageous to attract their attention?

Seriously though, it's school, you will ALWAYS have these issues. Teenagers are horrible little things, so you'll always have issues like these. Just buck up and get on, there's nothing more you can do.

You could always try bribing people. I remember seeing this one guy pull some cash out of his pocket & he said to these kids "I'll give you each $5 if you either shut up for the rest of class." & they accepted.

So either Ignore, Bribe, Be Violent. Well at least there is a couple cheering on.

Guys this is a school. The kid in here is the future of the country im supposed to live in till i draw my last breath. I think it'd just be running away not to face the problem headon. And about attracting attention. I think making a speech about this infront of the whole class in English will be enough bravodo for me. I dont want my Country to consist of impolite disrespectfull racists that never learned proper manners due to poor parenting. If anything it will be too late to face it when they are adults. Then they are their own. (Both Mind and Law)

Oh well. About 40 minutes to go.

What the fuck is wrong with teenage girls (and/or boys that have done this)? Why the hell would any of them take pictures of themselves naked, or let anybody else? And even if they did, why they fuck would they let ANYONE HAVE ACCESS TO THE PICTURES?! Do they not understand child pornography laws? It really doesn't matter who has the photo. Even if they're a minor, it's still a child pornography charge waiting to happen.
