Ok, I was making grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch when I checked inside the fridge and saw some bagels. Hmm, I wonder what it'd be like to grill one of these I thought. So I did. I put extra cheese and butter and it was delicious albeit a little greasy. So, what kind of crazy things have you guys randomly made while in the kitchen?

At a friend's birthday party someone brought up the idea to make "Twinkie Dogs", which is cooking a hotdog and using a twinkie as the bun. It's a disgusting atrocity I would not recommend to anyone.

Marmite and honey on toast - sooo good.
Also potato chips and chocolate or caramel the sweetness of the chocolate mixes with the salt and oil on the chips and produces a sensation that can only be described as a mouth organism.

Cream cheese and strawberry jam on a toasted bagel.
That and I sometimes mix different juices together.

Not a unique concept. Yeah, that's from 1989.

As for my favorite abomination:

1. Thaw out a frozen waffle. DO NOT TOAST IT! The waffle needs to be flexible.
2. Spread something like strawberry jam on the waffle. PB&J works, as does any sort of pie filling, ice cream topping sauce, or other similar substance.
3. Roll up and enjoy.

A whie ago, my fiancee made amazing cornish hens using powdered apple cider mix as a rub.

I fail to see how grilling a bagel is something crazy.

I don't really think any of my cooking qualifies as crazy, mostly because any sane chef wouldn't think twice about the things I do. Somehow I don't think anyone's going: "Oh my god! You put capers in that vegetarian moussaka? inconceivable!". I suppose the strangest mash-up I've done in the (recent) past was a sort-of lentil cake. I soaked the green lentils in green tea for an hour to absorb the flavor, then threw them in a food processor with garlic, carrots and bit of apple. Baked that for about half an hour. Goes well with Sriracha and a bit of Tamari.

I was bored with the whole pickle rolled in ham. I bought garlic pickles (the best kind of pickle, I don't care what you say) rolled in corned beef, made a second, put two toasted bagels over it, added some bacon since everything needs bacon, put ketchup on one bagel, and sliced jalapenos on the other side.
It was weird and I wouldn't do it again, but it was ok.

"I grilled the bagel, but I did not grease it up"... or however that song goes.

The wildest thing I have ever made was a 450G burger. A pretty simple burger with 300G meat and with lots of bacon, cheese salad and whatever a burger needs.

The craziest thing I have ever seen was this -->

Last thing I made in an impuslive 'spur of the moment' kind of mood was wild mushroom risotto. It was awesome, obviously.

seriously whenever im out in america you just chuck tonnes of the stuff on EVERYTHING obliterating all the other flavours.

ADD TO TASTE

sorry for the rant but it really bugged me how abusive you are of the ingredient out there.
I don't abuse it... two dashes per cup. I'm also not American...

Take a tortilla, cover one side with peanut butter or Nutella or whatever, then put ice cream into it, fold it up and enjoy the awesomeness.

interesting fact: my fiance can suck all the juice out of a pickle without cutting it open.

anyways, OT: my craziest creation was "sugar and teriyaki" meataballs. they're actually a foodgasm, try it.
