Heads-up, I have a tendency to rant and go off topic. I tried to keep this amusing at least.
I'm SO irritated because I'm trying to find a job and the majority of the time, I find jobs that say "experience neccessary" or the MOST ANNOYING THINGS EVER!!! they are scams, some obvious...others are not so obvious (which annoy me even more). It's really annoying because my inlaws will ask why I didn't take a job that they recommended for me. I try to explain that it was a scam but they won't listen.
Them:"Stop being lazy, it's a work at home job that pays $9 an hour."
Me:*about 30 seconds of research* "Yeah, that's for management."
Them:"Why don't you become Management?"
Me: "That takes time in the company."
Them: "That doesn't sound right, they said they pay $9 an hour!"
Me: "The key word in that sentence that you missed is an AVERAGE of $9 an hour. Plus, to get the job, you have to have an elaborate set-up and you don't get paid when their system crashes which, apparently happens a LOT."
Hmm, there's the 1st sign. Or "what about becoming a cop?"
Me: "Because I don't have the education."
Them:"Then get the education"
Me:"...um, that costs $ which I need a job to get."
Them:"So get a job."
Me:"I'm trying..."
Them:I'm just saying that they are looking for cops"...GRR!!! I then attempted to do a head desk and a face palm at the same time...hurt my fingers...and damaged the keyboard (joking). Also, they're insisting that I go on a family vacation soon...um, how's it going to look if I get a job and asks for my 2 week vacation during the very first interview? "Well, it couldn't hurt to try..." Except that would waste gas to get to the interview (which would be a waste of time), gas costs money, and I don't have money to waste on gas to get to interviews for jobs that I wont get because you insist that I go on vacation (by the way, the "vacation" is to the Gulf of Mexico. Do I need to explain the conversation resulting with that? "Yeah, we'll have a blast with the...OIL AND HURRICANE!!!")!!! I has rage!!!
All right, back to the scams. So, recently a friend of a friend got involved with selling ******* for ***** and my family heard about this. They recommended that I take the job. Only thing, I've already known somebody who worked for that company and had to find a "real job" shortly after she had spent a few hundred bucks on the product. Pyramid scheme! Another time, I heard about a company where I could sell ********* for ***. ANOTHER scam. Here's a hint that it's a pyramid scheme: The pics of "highest earners" and other people were the same 15 people over and over again in each monthly issue of their magazine (they had a few in their waiting room...fam insisted I "at least check it out"...I've already discussed the gas=$ which I have none bit above...)
I could go on and on but this rant is already long enough.
All right, enough with my personal stories, who else here has a story where they dealt with a scam artist? (Don't say company names because I don't know how the Mods feel about that and I don't feel like getting banned.)
