Back in the summer of '05 I went camping with some friends. I had had a couple of bags of candy in my tent that were opened but I thought that it would be all right to store them in my tent for only one night if I taped them closed. I tossed and turned in my sleep and knocked a bag of sour patch kids over and onto me opening it and pouring the sugar crystals everywhere.

I awoke the next morning i utter agony. A nearby fire ant colony liked the sugar and decided to move into my bag, I was covered in red welts from head to toe. The doctor who checked me out said that I was lucky that I wasn't allergic as I would have died. The good news he said is that I should now be immune to their toxins. Some consolation.

I hate flys, annoying little bastards. Also spiders. But my brother is the biggest ***** in the world when it comes to bugs. Whenever there is a spider in the shower he makes me come kill it, its not even dangerous, freaking grand daddy long leg or whatever.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, he is 18, 2 years older than me.

The only bugs I hate are roaches. When I find a Radroach in Fallout 3 I always go overkill make sure I destroy it.

I remember seeing this Australian spider picture...

Golden orb weaver or some crap like that...

It caught a chicken in its spider web.

Holy Fuck.
That is impossible. The image you're thinking of is one that caught a small bird, spiders can't get big enough to catch a freaking chicken.

Perspective makes it look much bigger then it is, granted it's still probably huge for a spider.
Those birds aren't all that big, but that's not the point. That Golden Orb Weaver is massive for a spider, the bloody thing is large enough that it could wrap it's legs around your whole hand. Man I love our wildlife out here in Australia.
Though not a bug, everyone in this topic should look up Coconut Crab on wikipedia.
I did... It was creeeepy. When I first saw the damn bugger I went, hoooly shit! Hoooly fucking shit!

Insects and arachnids are one of the few things that legitimately freak me out. Disgusting creatures.
I hate spiders, it isn't that they look creepy, which is in itself unsettling, but how they move.

P.S. New Avatar! :D

Deadly poisonous. And they live in the same province that I do[/img]

There were loads of them in my old house. I didn't care too much, and since our family is quite messey when it comes to food, we get quite alot of cockroaches. I am quite use to them now.

Mmm, looks tasty. That thing would be a ***** to cook though, imagine the size of the pot you'd need to fit the bloody thing in.

The things from Iraq are camel spiders their not really spiders they are scorpions. Not as fast or nimble as you might have heard still was pretty funny everytime someone seen one for the first time. And I understand there bite is nasty never was bit myself. My buddy shot one that was pretty funny.

Praying mantises used to really freak me out. They've got scissors! For arms! There was one sitting on the bar in my closet one morning a loooong time ago. It freaked me out.

I'm one of those people that love insects. The bigger the better. Probably my favorite time is when the Rhinoceros beetles come out in mass. I also had a pet Huntsman once. But it got out somewhere...

Oh well, it keeps the roach numbers down.

Oh, I came into this thread thinking it was a game that glitched out on you.

What really grinds my gears of fear are huge ass spiders. But only when they are the walls or ceiling, cause I think they'll jump at me. Ground spiders are fine, I try to sweep them outside. What makes it worse is i'll be sitting in the dark and something will touch my neck and i'll freak out, only to see the moth.
