Why do I say this? Because I chose the (at the time) upcoming Wii as my "well done for your exam results" the year it was to be released. I waited from September all the way to the release day to get it.
The shocking part: I'm happy I have a Wii. If I didn't have one, then working in a Games shop as I do now, I would've got one by now, but what I regret is having it since launch.
This is the first Nintendo console I've had since launch, but I witnessed what happened with the others, and I should've known that, moreso than any other console, Nintendo consoles don't get good till late in their life.
As I said, I'm happy I own a Wii. It's also doing the stand up job being the GameCube I never got around to buying (always played the Cube at my friends house, and I was at my friends house a LOT) but up until recently, I've just not been getting the most out of the console. I picked up a 360 in January, but it's getting played much less than the Wii is.
Super Mario Galaxy, NSMB Wii, Smash Bros., Metroid Prime Trilogy (ok, I played the original two on GC, not as trilogy) No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Zack & Wiki, Little King's Story, Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition (say what you like, its fun), Twilight Princess, Sports Resort, Harvest Moon, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Mario Kart, Madworld, Muramasa, the Resi Evil lightgun games, the Resi 4 Wii version
All those without mentioning a single game from the VC or WiiWare.
Yes, a fair few of those were out a while ago, but NOW is the time to pick up a Wii and play through all these stellar games you've been missing.
It's what I'd be doing if I didn't have them.
(NOTE: Don't get F1 Wii, wait for the 360/PS3 game this year, please!)
