they want your money... and they know how to get it... buy selling what you want at a reasonable price, those bastards!

So you're angry because the games you want are the ones being sold as deals...
Um, right.

I'll just leave this right here.

As for me? It only really makes me mad in a funny "OH GOD DAMMIT" sense when I see an amazing deal that I can't get.

I would only buy a game on steam if it was on sale... for a business model that requires less financial input than retail, all there games are MORE EXPENSIVE than retail.

Also, prices of little additions (like hats etc. in Portal 2 and TF2) take the piss!

"Steam is psychic" could have been a good title :p. I have a similar problem but I never seem to have the money when the sale is on which is why I don't like them.

EDIT: Just noticed they have daily deals now. All if forgiven, all hail water vapour

The only reason I can still eat and pay rent is because I don't check the steam store. It was designed to take advantage of impulse buyers, and that's just rude.

Oh thank the heavens, someone who doesn't think I'm seriously angry.

I love you.

You think this is a coincedence?

They advertised something to make people want it. They realised the point at which most people would feel similarly to the way you do and put it on sale today.

Valve has piles and piles of money for a reason. They're not using a dartboard to decide on their deals or promotions.

(Re the people who don't understand Steam wallet drain: Steam provides the perfect platform to offer you a good deal on a game you intended to play, but never did. Since the deals tend to be short-lived, there's an incentive to buy it while it's cheap, which leads to essentially stockpiling games.)

So don't use St- Oh wait, it's not that kind of thread. Cool...

I'm rarely interested in their deals. Never understood the whole "OMG STEEM IZ DRAININ MAH WALLET" mentality I often hear about. Are people really that intensely interested in that many games, or do they just buy cheap things because they're cheap and not because they've always wanted to buy them?
I'd say it's primarily a cheap things for cheap mentality. A game doesn't have to garner much interest from me if I can buy it for less than a McDonalds meal.

Steam's deals no longer attract me the way they used to.

Why? Because I pretty much own almost everything that I actually want to play, and because I have so many games I still need to play.

In other words... Steam deals have already done their work with me. XD

I'll have whatever you're having. The games I want NEVER go on sale and when they do I'm conveniently out-of-money or just happen to not pay attention to Steam that day.

I would have so much more money in my wallet if steam didn't have all these sales but I guess I can't complain at all because I keep getting awesome games dirt cheap.
