So, I'm not sure about the specifics of this, but every now and then a Internet Explorer(Not default web browser) will open to weird advertising websites. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them. I'm running AVG virus scans and I'll edit this post if it shows anything.

Doesn't seem overly malicious then, probably just adware.

Anyway, KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Run Malwarebytes.

If the problem is really serious, try combo fix.

That was uncalled for, I was just asking for suggestions and/or help and I wasn't freaking out.

Is it porn?

I've nothing to really contribute here, just wondering.

Avg is good, but it does miss a fair amount of things in my personal exp.

But yes, try avast or another virus scanner. (hell I keep Avast, Avg and Avira all on standby with Avast my fully installed Viri defender)

Also, Malware bytes, or adaware. Adaware used to be great but has went down hill over the years.

Then use a good registry repair program. Cant think of any off hand, but you can surely find something highly recommended at www.downloads.com

If all else fails, prolly best to start over fresh anyway and go with a reformat.

Best of luck to you. Viri do suck, but at the same time, fighting them up close and personal can teach you a lot in understanding how an operating system works.

Download and install Spybot Search and Destroy, also Avast Free Antivirus. Those two should take care of any problems you may have.

I don't think it's a virus, but probably a cookie, or a harmless virus.

Try deleting browser history (Tools tab in IE, or just press CTRL+Shift+DEL), and seeing if it shows up. If not, malwarebytes that crap!
