i have high ping can anyone help?

hey guys, I am a dayz mod player.
everything has been fine up until today but now all I get is high ping! I dunno why this is happening!
my parents walked in the door literally the moment everything went wrong, so I thought 'oh its just their phones connecting to the wireless and wrecking things'
but it's not getting better!

I dunno what to do at all, I've tried resetting the router and restarting my comp but nothing works.

any help would be great!

Are you sure it's something that's happening on your end? Perhaps the server you're connecting to is experiencing some difficulties. Have you tried playing to other games or connecting to other servers? Is your internet overall functioning slowly?

go to the start menu and in the search box type cmd and hit return

In window that opens type

Pathping (the dayz server ip)

if the your server ip was 37.220.17.186 it would be

pathping 37.220.17.186

woke up this morning and tried again but it is still a no go.
every server is saying it's in the red but shows that there are people playing, it's very frustrating.

internet seems ok though, maybe a tad slower than usual though that could be my imagination.

I've scanned for virus/spyware etc and got nothing.

I still think that the fact this happened the moment my parents came home off holiday has something to do with it.
Our wireless is a bit sketchy you see, and the internet goes down even when the wireless phone rings.
Also it is not unusual for the internet to go down when someone who has the code to our internet on their phone walks in, I assume that is something to do with connection issues.

I will give other games a go and see what happens, thanks for your reply.

the ip being displayed is not making any sense to me, it doesn't look like a normal ip address, not sure why that is.
anyhows! I managed to log on just now and things seem to be running smoothly, well as smooth as dayz will allow...

It probably says something like 37.220.17.186:2803 . The colon and what comes after is the port number on the server, so just take off the colon and numbers after it.
