I'm going to risk sounding like a pervert by saying...

I did a bossa nova cover of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" with a couple of mates once, and it sounded pretty good. Does that count?
That's actually a great idea. I'm stealing it.

Mine would have to be "Dreaming of a white christmas" since we always make fun of my friend's bad dandruff. (He hardly showers, it's disgusting)

I love the classic versions of Christmas songs. Nat King Cole and Bing Cosby and Burl Ives. I hate it when current pop singers try to remake them.

Although, the Bare Naked Ladies (Feat. Sarah McLachlan) did a great version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings:

But then again, the BNL rock.

Otherwise, I love O Holy Night, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, We Three Kings, Carol of the Bells--I like lots of them.

Haha, I hate the familial obligations of the holidays but I love the music.

Any holiday song I hear playing I tie it to some big corporation saying "spend all your money on us, speeend~ all your~ monnaaaaahh~~!! On USSSSS!!! Merry buy our stuff day." Then again I'm a jaded negative jerk and I more enjoy actually spending time with my family vs exchanging gifts.

Like deck the halls.

Fill the Halls with gasoline, fa la la la....Strike a match but don't be seen Fa la la la....Watch the school burn down to ashes Fa la la la la.....Aren't you glad you played with matches? Fa la la la la la la la.

That's why I love the top 10 most disturbing and inescapable Christmas Songs! [http://www.thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thedudette/nostalgia-chick/3250-top-10-disturbing-and-inescapable-christmas-songs]
In which she straight-facedly described Fairytale Of New York as "relatively unknown"... ye gods.

So, yeah, I largely detest Christmas songs. There's precisely two that I like, one of which is obviously the aforementioned Pogues thing.

The other... I fell in love with this song when I heard it on the radio around the original Christmas 2001 release but, as it was a limited edition vinyl release, didn't get hold of it until it made an appearance on the soundtrack to About A Boy (which, incidentally, I haven't seen, but the soundtrack is brilliant, check it out etc). I spent every Christmas after that trying to get people to listen to it, but eventually gave up when it turned out that nobody ever trusts my music recommendations. Then, in typical fashion, the BBC used it on one of their Christmas TV adverts last year and people went mad for it. Sigh.

Anyway, enjoy.

I'd say Carol of the Bells by Trans-Siberian Orchestra [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_v0oPgo3sE], but a second personal favorite is this song from Home Alone 2 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2mQXQjY130].

If TV and shopping centers can start the holidays early, then so can I! What's your favorite Christmas song (or 'Holiday song' if you're a political correctness-Nazi)?

I always have a soft spot for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I also like the Chorus of the Bells (You know, the one with the McDonald's parody), and Greensleeves.
uh, Holiday is celebrated by pastafarians. its also very deeply religious for us as well. are you calling pastafarians nazis?
Also, believe it or not, not everyone celebrates christmas, so say if im jewish, and i refer to christmas as honica, does that make me a jewish nazi? hmm!? WELL!? GIVE ME MA COOKIE!
my favorite christmas song is......

If any of you EVER worked in retail as long as I have then you would hate all the songs as much as I do.

Though I do love "Carol of the bells".

Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime".
It's one of the cheesiest songs out there, but when the holidays roll around, I can't help but listen to it nonstop.
