I just beaten the game today, without the extended cut add-on.

It was an alright ending. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it with a venomous passion. Granted, I didn't even get the "best" ending.

I mean, I can sort of see where people are coming from, but I still enjoyed it. Maybe all the buzz about it made me lower my expectations, who knows, but I still think it's a bit silly that people were throwing hissy fits over it. I thought it was acceptable. It didn't ruin the rest of the game or franchise for me, and it was still a fun ride. I had about the same reaction to it as I did the Evangelion ending. I wouldn't be surprised if 20 years from now people will still be bitching about ME3's ending, just like how to this day people are still bitching about the Evangelion ending.

Of course they ***** about Evangelion, because they think it was supposed to make sense but the author said that he was suffering a breakdown and the show reflected it. There is no symbolism or anything meaninful there.

ME in the other hand, it was "supposed" to be a planned trilogy and had a coherent theme going on........that the ending just plain forgot that it existed and suplanted it with is own.
