I respect the freedom you people have there (for example the obvious stuff: cannabis and prostitution.) This is not because I'm into those things, because I'm not, but I think everyone should be free to do whatever they want as long as they're not hurting other people. Netherlands is one of the most progressive countries in this aspect.Whateveralot said:Iceland is beautiful(I actually want to go there some day).
I live in The Netherlands

City on fire? "Hang on a tick, I'll put the kettle on and we'll have a bloody good think about what we should do."
Someone announced their wedding? "Fantastic! I'll put the kettle on!"
Your wife is having her friends over? "I'll just put the kettle on and watch the telly."
Measured response to everything. That measure is usually either one or two sugars
Fucking love you guys!

That was rather nice so I had to respond and say a big thank you!trooper6 said:Ireland has got some amazing musicians coming out of there. Sinead O'Connor, U2, The Cranberries. (please no leprechaun things....)
And I loved the movie The Commitments.
Also, Irish people are really lovely. And there are some find Irish ballads.
Also Ireland contributed a LOT to US culture.
I just want to pick up on the Serbia, since no one has said anything about it yet.PoweD said:You have Remedy Entertainment

If you haven't managed to see The Guard yet, it's a great movie about how dysfunctional and hilarious life can get here.
The Commitments was fucking awesome!
Few things are better than a damn good movie- especially one with Brendan Gleeson, Liam Cunningham, Don Cheadle and Mark Strong.trooper6 said:Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out. I love good cinema!Boba Frag said:That was rather nice so I had to respond and say a big thank you!

So....Australia.
Uh... what? TV is free (unlike USA) and we have great shows like Talkin' About Your Generation, Spicks and Specks, Gruen Transfer, The Collectors, Hamish and Andy, Packed to the Rafters and more. The channels kind of fuck up American shows (showing them out of order, stopping them mid series etc.) but I just buy the DVDs.CaptVickHartnell said:Great TV?!?! OK, actually if you're referring to ABC on a Wednesday night (i.e. Spicks and Specks and Gruen Tranasfer etc) then I understand.
