So i just finished portal 2 and have moved onto a series of easy to beat games and well you know that feeling you get when you beat all the games challenges, bosses, etc and you get a feeling of accomplishment.
in short portal 2 felt good to beat and the recent games i have played just don't have that feeling

A friend of mine continues to complain of the difficulty curve on Demon's Souls, but I'd imagine that's a well-known one. Still viable if you haven't played it though.

I'd also say if you've got online capabilities, go into the Shop Channel, PSN Store, XBLA, or whatever and pick up some retro stuff. I've been playing games almost my entire life and I STILL have issues with games like the original Megaman series. The retro stuff can be pretty brutal and challenging.

Well New Vegas' Hardcore mode sure is a challenge. Also, games in the MegaTen franchise are renowned for and built for their difficulty.

A challenge eh...I challenge you to an Agni Kai!...oh right, games. :p

I hear Witcher 2 is kinda hard in the beginning atleast, but if you can beat it, you should feel good as you have accomplished something.

If you happen to own a DS, you can't go wrong with Mega Man Zero Collection, Mega Man & Bass, or Contra 4 for "EXTREME TO THE MAX!!" difficulty.

Or if your PC's decent for gaming, you could try your hand at Starcraft 2's multiplayer and try to get into the Grandmaster League.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed is pretty damn hard as well.

I've beaten all of the Halo games by myself on legendary. For me, that's the best, because it strikes a balance between actually hard bordering on frustration, and times where I can take out a whole unit with ease.

But if you want a real challenge, play Frogger on the interstate. ;)

You could try playing EVE Online.

Alternatively, this. I tried myself, and I just couldn't figure out how to do anything productive without resorting to FAQs and guides. Eventually gave up. The premise of the game is very interesting, but I just can't cope with the ASCII graphics and the user-unfriendly interface. I'm sure it's great fun if you get past that and learn the basics though.

Dwarf Fortress isn't that hard once you've learned the interface and everything, a real challenge is embarking on a glacier that is also a volcano with an aquifer and no flux stones, trees or plants. Also the location should be evil and savage, so your dwarves are mauled to death by undead giant eagles before they even get around to deconstructing the wagon they arrived with.

Other than that there's Liberal Crime Squad, or if you prefer something that actually has graphics any of the Monster Hunter games are extremely challenging, and there's no greater sense of acheivement in gaming than defeating some of the creatures in that game.

To be fair, Eve isn't really hard, it is just vast. The bread&butter gameplay of the average player is as hard as a point and click adventure game.

Vampire rain. If you want a challenge, play that on easy. Even that is monstrously difficult.

If you have a Source game for Steam, download SMOD Tactical: Project Life

Basics: Everything in the game can kill you in three shots. You don't respawn health, and health packs are pretty far and in between. You can only carry around five weapons at once, and enemies are freaking everywhere.
