Fallout 3 is pretty much Oblivion with guns ad considering you've played a lot of Oblivion I think you'll enjoy it, but try playing it with mods such as Fallout Wanderer's Edition, it makes the game much funner. Also, Minecraft because... well it's awesome.

Persona 3 or 4, Witcher 2 or Dungeons of Dredmor are all fine picks for massive hours of game time. I'm personally also really looking forward to Skyrim, ME3 and Heroes (of Might and Magic) VI.

I finally got into playing Cave Story, which proved to be quite a gem of a game. There are plenty of save points, so you don't have to play for extended periods of time. It also has a great story with separate paths for multiple playthroughs. Also, if you really want the True Ending, there's a nice bonus dungeon with some extreme difficulty, if you're feeling a little masochistic. Best of all, it's Freeware. I managed to get both of the endings in about three-days, but I had a lot of free time that weekend.

Have you thought about a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA)? An rpg they are not, but they have a massive amount of players and you can play it without end. The big two, Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends, are free to play. HoN takes more skill, but LoL is easier to jump into with a tutorial and co-op vs bots games.

For MMORPG's i would suggest trying to get into the betas for Tera, and Blade and Soul. Both are coming out relatively soon and seem to bring a few new ideas to MMO's. Just take a peek at some info at them.

If you want a long lasting game with descent end game content, city of heroes is a good start.

Its a pretty old game, the combat isn't anything special, and the older/majority missions can feel samey, but overall it's a fun game. and a lot better when you play with other people.

It's got a good number of archetypes(classes) and you unlock extra when you reach level 20 which adds to the time you can spend playing.

It has an incarnates system, which is super strength end game content stuff which is designed to take you over 2 weeks of play per stage.

The difficulty settings mean you could bash out 10+ missions in half an hour, or spend an entire session on a mission set to the highest difficulty. (one of the best features of the game in my opinion)

For a game you haven't played, its a good laugh granted you like super heroes, but after 3 years of play it can get kinda boring... untill it goes free this autumn =P

So yeah, that's my experience with the game, make of it what you will. =)

Ahh, two things, aren't they called DoTA? Well, i call the genre that way, and they are amazing and OP should play em, and HoN isn't free, or wasn't last time i checked, but certainly is my favourite, by far, of the two..

If we are going that way, also try TF2, Bloodline Champs, SC II and Monday Night Combat. Good stuff there.

Dwarf Fortress. It's an RPG if you play the Adventurer mode. Try to memorize every page of the wiki first, though, as it's incredibly difficult. I might also recommend a different tileset to make it slightly more understandible.

Why not try saints row 2 or a just cause 2 both games will give you one of the two sandboxes on the market and if your the type that can get lost in a sandbox they are both games that will swallow you whole. Maybe also assassins creed brotherhood as the main missions alone will probably take you a good 15 hours without doing any side stuff plus the multiplayer while not being for everyone's taste for me at least is the best multiplayer I've played in a good while and sunk countless hours into.

Seconded. I suggest you play through it at least twice, once with a male Warden, once with a female Warden (human noble, if you want the "best" possible ending). You're gonna get drastically different endings if you just play it right.

It actually just went free-to-play recently. Pretty nice actually, i was tight on cash for a while so i couldn't buy it. Both games are great in their own way and both are fun to play!

But i've been hearing people call it a MOBA recently, and i suppose it makes sense. Now that there is more than one real standout in the genre there needs to be an all-encompassing term.
