i need a new book

I've read a great book, i liked it especialy because of the way the writer gave the details on the reactions of people during conversations and the cruel humor,
I would suggest you to read Devil may Cry (not actually the game!) by sherrilyn Kenyon,
its about fictional(made up) greek mythology that usualy grabs my taste of books,
i dont know what books your'e interested in, but either way, tell me which books you liked
or what type of book, hope you read it and even more that you like it,

primal fear by William Diehl. just finished it...and I've seen the movie starting (my man crushes) Edward Norton and Richard Gere. Its the perfect example of what a Psycho-Thriller should be.

Any book by Joe Abercrombie would certainly be recommended, be sure you've got a strong stomache and don't mind the goodguys losing though. And not really being goodguys.

The Book Thief
I just finished reading it. It's very moving, written with a lot of care. It's set in Germany during World War II, with Death himself acting as the narrator. It's classified as Young Adult fiction only because the main character is a young girl, but the themes are deep and meaningful.

If you're looking for romantic novels that break the mold, i suspect that "The Vampire Huntress," by L.A. Banks series does that. I haven't read any other romantic novels, but Vampire Huntress series is almost more of a fantasy. If you're just looking for a different Genre, then the "Attikus Kodiak" series by Greg Rucka, is a good action/mystery thriller. The "Sword of Truth" series by Terry Goodkind is an amazing fantasy, and most of the books written by Chris Crutcher are very good books, although I don't know what genre they fall into.

If your looking for some really good, if fairly low-brow horror, I recommend checking out anything by "Edward Lee". He's fairly prolific but you usually have to special order his stuff.

Brandon Sanderson.

Seriously, his endings rock. Especially the Mistborn Trilogy. When I finished the last page in the third book I literally sat and stared at the book for a good five minutes. It's that kind of epic. Really, though, all of his books have endings and twists that will catch you by surprise. They're not always happy, but they're always interesting.

It's a fast read but boy-oh-boy is it a wonder.

I agree, it was a nice surprise for me, not the sort of book I expected. I'm very close to the end so I probably can't judge it fully.

But seriously, they're amazingly well written and full of well-built characters. Read it!

Also, I recently disccovered Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series, and it's awesome. I highly recommend it if you remotely like fantasy.
Also, there's like 11 of them or something, and the series is still not finished. So plenty of reading material there.

I´d recomend these. By Neil Gaiman:

-Anansi Boys (dude dicovers his father is a god! His brother visits him and all kinds of awesome stuff happen)
-Good Omens(Armageddon is upon us and the only ones who can save us from the anti-christ are two buddies, one from heaven, another from hell)
-American Gods(dude got outta prison, his life is ruined, and all of a sudden he´s made an offer by a mysterious man. But can he trust him?)
-Coraline(the book that inspired the movie. Really great stuff!)
-Neverwhere(dude discovers a supernatural world on the London Subways!)

If you´re into comics, try these:

-The Walking Dead (now a hit tv series, it´s a zombie story that focuses less on the gore and more on solid characters)
-Morning Glories (Marvel´s Runaways meets LOST!Cool stuff)
-Preacher (one of the best Vertigo comics ever.Fun stuff)
-Midnight Nation (an underrated classic)

And of course the greatest fantasy novels of all time: The Song of Ice and Fire Saga...but be warned...it will ruin fantasy for you because nothing that you read after it will satisfy you...yes, it is that good.

Start with the first volume «A Game of Thrones». Oh, and if you don´t think you´ll like it , check out the tv show that´s debuting on HBO next spring.

Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves is one of my favorites. It's a complex piece of work though, with experimental formatting all over the place. Footnotes inside footnotes (with it's own plot!) bizarre latter spacing to mirror the action, an unreliable narrator and a weird plot involving extra-dimensional space inside a closet.
