So I've been itching to get a new DS game for a while now, but I'm not sure what I want. I am leaning towards Disgaea DS. Has anyone played it? How does it compare to the original on PS2?
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am looking for something along the line of RPG, Strategy, or Simulation. I own FFT:A2 and FF3. I know what games are out there, and I've read reviews, but I'm looking for some first-hand knowledge. Any help?

The new Suikoden on the DS is meant to be good.
Depends on your taste, I'm 5 Hours in and while it is good, it's very simplistic in terms of both plot and gameplay, the voice acting is terrible and it is NOT a proper Suikoden game. But it's fun if you like Simple, Well Produced, Turn Based RPG's.

GTA Chinatown Wars is the best DS game yet.
It's especially good if you wanted a Drug Empire Simulator.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure GTA China Town Wars is hands down the best game.

I don't have many DS games but the ones I really enjoyed are Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The World Ends With You.
I thought Mario Kart DS was a bit overrated. It's a bit easy and the online games are impossible to win unless you torture your thumbs using that cheap powersliding trick.

Well the character models are very PS1 era, and make the characters look like children, dissapointed or happy?

There are so many DS games to choose from... What genre do you like? If you're a fan of RPG's I'd highly recommend Chrono Trigger.

I've played very few but I did enjoy Hotel Dusk: Room 112 . It's a puzzley solvey sort of game which had me confused for a days. Worth a try.

Elite Beat Agents was the first game I got for my DS and I enjoyed it immensely. Its not too exciting, just a beat/tapping sort of game, but it has a wide variety of songs and the beat agents are pretty fun characters. Basically you travel the globe using your elite beat agent skills to help people in need. It's short, has 3 or 4 levels of difficulty, and you can play it over and over again without getting bored.

It's a bit old but if it's Strategy you're looking for Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

As a question for you though how is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2. I Loved the first one (as in I am playing it right now on an emulator) and I have heard mixed on the next title. Something about the story not being good but I am more focused on gameplay and the like.

I don't know about Disgaea DS, but if it's anything like Disgaea for the PSP, it's really a lot of fun. I can't say how well it compares to the PS2 version, as I never got a chance to play it, but I will say that I love Afternoon of Darkness. Although I will say that the difficulty can be somewhat punishing on later levels, especially when it comes to the Item World. The Geo Crystal system can take some getting used to (I still screw up color combos stupidly from time to time) but it's rather intuitive once you get the hang of things.

GTA chinatown wars is a good choice
Legend of Zelda phantom hourglass is also a load of fun
Professor Layton and the curious village is a great puzzle game (although hard to find copies)

I also heard that disgaea wasn;t that hot on the ds, but I have never played it, so I can;t give you a good review on it.

I found 5 alot better than 1 myself... but that's a matter of opinion I guess. It feels the most like Suikoden 3, since that one discarded most of the standard elements of the series. Though it lacks 3's excellent story and replaces it with a Save The World, Religion R Bad Guyz, standard RPG plot.

Wario Ware. Really addictive game and also really fun. Alot of assorted mini games to use with the touch screen and one of those games you can play over and over.

Alot of fun.

Personally I liked the gameplay in A2 much better than A1. Of course in my eyes, nothing will ever beat the original FFT. I definitely recommend you pick up A2.

That could very well be a very awesome game.
That could very well be the best post ever.
