As you may have read, I need a new laptop. What would be good one for games and photoshop and the like? How much will it cost me?

Now the reason I don't have someone help me make one is I dont have room fo a desktop.

what shoud i do? buy a laptop? or is it worth it to sell/throw out stuff to make room for a PC?

Depends on what you define as 'games'.

Red Alert or X-Com Enemy Unknown= cheap computer

Crysis or Metro 2033= more expensive computer.

If you're really into the photoshop thingy, macintoshes are all about graphic design.

It depends, what games do you play?

I wouldn't go towards Macs. I'd generally go for Thinkpads (Lenovo) or Inspirons (Dell). My brother has had his thinkpad for a good three years with minimal problems that Lenovo fixed quickly. I've had my inspiron for two years and the only problem I had was with the hardrive (wasn't anyone's fault, it just failed). My girlfriend has a Pavilion (HP) which seems to be doing pretty good.

A desktop is more cheaper and more powerful than a laptop...yea, sell/throw out stuff to make room for a PC

Laptops should really only be brought when you either cannot fit 2 small boxes in a room or you use the PC on the move

well, my only recommendation is to go with a solid-state hard drive. They make your computer run much faster than its specifications would have you believe, plus, it never heats up, because it has no moving parts. (the hard drive that is)

My laptop is solid state and It works awesomely.

Generally speaking, it's cheaper to buy a gaming computer and a laptop than to buy a laptop that can game.

It might be a good idea to get a gaming laptop, then also a mini netbook since it only about $200, but I don't think you take your computer around that often anyways so there might not be a need.

but you know what the room is like. even if i move the junk off the small desk i have, there is a friggin' air condishaning unit right there.
