Firstly let me say that I am not gentle when it comes to my headphones, after extended use I have a habit of forgetting they're on my head and walking away from my pc only to have them whipped off my head by the wire. This oversight has caused my last 3 gaming headsets to die due to internal wire damage.
In short, wired headsets are a no no here.

I'm looking for a wireless gaming headset. My only other condition is that it must be compatible with an optical cable while simultaneously allowing me to use the mic.
This means that the Razer Chimaera 5.1 is bust because the bloody thing can't do that, which I find silly.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated, as would offers to pay for the headset but I'm not holding out much hope there.

Optic cable use light refractions on teeny-tiny glass-like mirrors in a cable to send the signal. Having wireless would mean that it somehow has to shoot out of a hole, into another hole provided both ends are dead ridged. Long story short; you wont ever get a wireless headset w/optics.

I dunno how you forget they're on your head though. usually 99% people can still feel it wrapped around your ears and/or a microphone sticking out in front of you.

I thank you for your insight and apologise for expecting you to know that non-usb wireless headsets use a base station which connects to the PC with wires.
