If you arent over 20, you probably weren't even capable of remembering this show...it was in the 80's to early 90's.

After many searches on Retrojunk and the net...I still can't find this shows name (only a yahoo question surrounding the same information). Both my girlfriend and I remember it, but can't think of the name. It was about a brother and sister that get transported to a world with puppets by a necklace (or compass). They are searching to wake up this giant and are helped out by a puppet cat (I think). The bad guy is a witch who had a henchman snake (big green thing...or orange and red with a lisp and large fangs). She had a lair with two talking heads on her wall of people she changed that way. I think the intro had them in an attic, if I'm not mistaken and the premise was finding there father.

Please, can somebody remember the name...only the two kid's were live action, the rest were puppets, and the series seemed to end when they had just found the sleeping giant.

EDIT: You will also remember the kids always walking through forests and paths. Creeks...that sorta thing. The witch's layer had morders and pedestals, and was a dungeon or cave. Two much smaller talking heads that made snide remarks about how they were changed by the witch...she in turn threatened them of eternally being stuck that way....and I remember her being able to take them off the wall. It was not a movie however like the labrinth, dark crystal or return to OZ.

EDIT: S.R.S found it. It's Blizzard Island. That persons a God.

That sounds...trippy. Almost like some sci-fi/fucked up version of The Wizard of Oz, did you search on that?

It was very similiar to Jim Henson's work...but not (or atleast thats what IMDB and wikipedia say).
It was very weird, but a fun little adventure show. It's been bugging us for awhile.

I don't know, there are so many half-forgotten nostalgic shows stashed in the back of my brain.

That show sounds flippin' awesome, though. What was the country of origin, America, England, Australia?

Did they have vulture-things in it? If not then I'm thinking of something completely different.

You might be thinking of "The Dark Crystal". That's a movie though.

Fuck this, now I need to remember it too. Damn you Sam.

If you can remember what company produced it or what some of the actors' or voice actors' names were, you could try searching those.

Sorry man, I know. And no, it wasn't a movie like Dark Crystal or Return to OZ...although my search results mainly bring up those titles.

It definetely was about two siblings, and I seem to remember a cat helping them.

I don't even know the creator or producer.

Where's my crown, mo-fo?
YOU ARE A GOD
You wouldn't believe how I remebered that.
I must know...that is it! Please, do tell.
Anyway, the show "Blizzard Island" shares the same name with a location in a pokemon game:
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Blizzard_Island (For your conveinience)
That was one memory (or clue) I've had and this is waaaayyyyyy back.

The second came after the pokemon "Aggron" http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Aggron_(Pok%C3%A9mon) and somehow my "phycic-power" led me to think of "The Necklace Of Argon" never being one to rember poke-names I've refered to this pokemon as Argon since. Still I've always wondered why I often mis-spelled-pronounced it's name, just wierd I guess. Again didn't think of it too much.

But what really got me thinking, the catalyst for my brain explosion was your description of the villains. A witch and a snake (That's Sir Python) I just had to find out or remember what they could possibly be from. A few google clicks later and *BAM*

"Blizzard Island" is about two kids "Tracey and Wayne Allen" who have inherited a magic necklace from their
mother, "The Necklace Of Argon" Once the center is turned The two children disappear from our world and
appear in the world of Blizzard Island. Here everyone is after this necklace because of its magic powers. They
learn they must deliver the necklace to a giant named Argon. The world of Blizzard Island is dying, and it's
affecting our world too. They have to return the necklace in order for the giant to set things right. So with the
help of Rog, the Rogaloneon sand creature they try to seek out Argon and return the necklace so that he may
heal the world and make everything well again.

All those "clues" fell into place finally making sense and I guess you're to thank for it (clearing my mind). Now if I can only remember where my time capsule is.

And so ends the tale of how pokemaniac S.R.S. remembered a really far off t.v. show that consumed an hour of his afternoon.
Sherlock Holmes ain't got shit on me!
One more thing I just realised something (at the time) I was living in Sydney (Sidney dun-dun daaaaa!).
