So I downloaded the new update so that I could get back on PSN but then it tells me my password is invalid. So I press OK so that I can change it but then it says: An error has occurred. (80710D36)

How do I do that?

You have NEVER checked your Email before? The Email that you have entered for your PSN account you have to go and follow the directions on the email that they sent you. It should have said that before it gave you the error message or letting you try to sign in after the update.

I got that error too at first. Just be patient and wait a while, I managed to get on two hours later. My PSN is back up now and doing fine.

Shouldn't matter what region you are in. You need to reset your password through the link that Sony sent you in an email. I would suggest waiting a bit to access said site because it seems to be down due to traffic ATM.

I still havent had an email, but im at the enter new password screen, so im guessing nothing was actually wrong, and waiting will fix this error

well that wasn't that hard, was it. Nothing is wrong with your PS3, your info was not stolen, it's just that there's a massive fluent of people trying to enter the same hole. Wait in the line, son
