The easiest way for me to go about this is show you what inspires me.

So I'd say go listen to some Bad Religion, read some Plato and watch some Star Trek and Lost. Also look up some Streetlight Manifesto. And Enter Shikari. Movies you'll like are Sin City, Watchmen, Children of Men, District 9, Fight Club, Slumdog Millionaire and possibly Paranoid Park. Additional books you'll enjoy are the Bourne trilogy (Idenity, Supremacy, Ultimatum) and The Dream Merchant. Incidentally, get "Is belief in god good, bad or irrelevant?" by Bad Religion frontman Greg Graffin. Also consider dipping into the Warhammer and/or Warcraft games, books and/or lore.

Knock yeself out.

TV Shows - South Park and The Daily Show

Movies - Dr. Strangelove and Inglourious Basterds (a.k.a the movie that should have won best picture last night)

Books - Paradise Lost by John Milton (I just took English Lit, so I'm in a "classics" mood)

Anything by Mel brooks for movies, anything by Raymond E Feist for books and as for a series... can't think of many good series off the top of my head. Possibly Lost if you like laughing at crap TV.

World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide.
Agreed. World War Z is my favourite book ever. I've read it at least 5 times.

If you want to get yourself lost in something, then Maplestory is pretty fun. Just don't talk to most people, and you'll do fine.

Oh...

I thought your caps lock key was stuck on.

Anyway....

I enjoy Mythbusters, Stargate (all of them), Scrubs, Southpark, Top Gear and lots of different british comedies.

Stephen King's Dark Tower series is pretty good for about half of it, his "The Talisman" is also great. "IT" barring a few select scenes is good, "Pet Sematary" and "Dreamcatcher" are pretty good too. King's short stories are better then his full novels though.
I enjoyed the entirety of the Dark Tower Series... I don't see what's wrong with the second half. His other books are good and I agree about the short stories. Other than Stephen King, I recommend Peter Straub in general as well as what I'm reading at the moment, the Hornblower series by C.S. Forester.
