Maybe...just maybe you'll like this!
Very good, may consider it.
For the love of God, do not. That over-rated bunch of no talent and commercialized ass hats have already garnered enough attention by the unwashed masses. Stay away.

Not sure if those comments were both talking about The Exies, or just the second one, but ...

You do know that The Exies released a second album, right? It was titled "A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth", and it was released in 2007.

BTW - second the plug for Four Year Strong and A Day To Remember.

Check out 4YS's track "Bad News Bearz"

A Day To Remember has a great track called "All I Want"

A Day To Remember also does a cover of "Since U Been Gone" that kicks ass

I figured that I needed to put a spoiler so it wouldn't take up too much space. Here are songs from all my favourite bands which are all pretty different. Hope you find something you like.

I hope you like this. But please don't write them off as another scene band, they're super talented and put on one hell of a live show.
Sounds like someone in that band is a fan of Coheed and Cambria. Personally I'm not into that style of music all that much, but those kids were decent.
I always think it's funny when people call them kids. The lead singer is almost 30! Crazy, no?

Have you tried the Gorillaz? :D
I know how this looks, with my avatar and all, but they're ... SO GOOD. @- @
They have songs from alt-rock, pop, rap, indie-ish, techno, reggae, classical, jazz.

What is this. This is good music. 8D

Try Demon Days, the album.
I second this.
I love your taste in music as well.
Their new album comes out in ... like 11 days! 8D
But they leaked it themselves pretty much. THEY'RE SO NICE. <3
a new Gorillaz album!? How the hell did I miss this?

OT:some stuff I like(no guarantee you'll like it)
Beck it's his... Style, he has some pretty good songs, and his sound changes on almost all the albums of his I've listened too.
Muse had some interesting stuff if your a Rush fan
if you want quirky songs, try Cake or Honest Bob and the factory to dealer incentives, both have some pretty funny songs(check out comfort eagle for cake and second and eighteen for Honest Bob, those are the ones that can decide if your a fan of them or not)
Also, ever listen to Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros? The have this really awsome sound, since I don't know how to link to youtube search for their song "Home" on youtube.

No guarantee you'll like any of that, but those are a few of the bands I like.
... And Gorilliaz how I missed their new album I'll never know.....

As I do with every thread where people asking for new music, I shall copy/paste my top recommendations to people. Enjoy.

I'm going to post some I Am The Ocean. They're so unknown, its sickening.

And my two defaults for threads like this. Emilie Autumn.

And Closure in Moscow.

There we go. Enjoy anybody.

I'm going to add ORBS in this too.

Electric Six. I have been listening to them non-stop and they're incredible. Don't take them too seriously, by the way, bot they are really talented.

The title is pretty much explains it, I want some music that I don't already listen to on the radio tight hundred times a day and from what I can tell most people on the Escapist have quite the good taste in music so I'm asking you escapist what music should I get, No metal though (Speed Metal is fine) I'll try to listen to everyone's suggestions.
If it helps I like Rock, Jazz, Alternative, and Some sorts of pop like Atomic tom.
Well I have a very eclectic taste in music...meaning I like anything as long as it is good.

That also includes rap and country.

So here is a great song from the leader of my favorite rap group right now.

SWAG!

I'm from the UK and can recommend some good British indie/alternative

Young Knives
Maxinmo Park
Franz Ferdinand
Arctic Monkeys

If you like it more pop then try The Kooks - a must if you like accents, try the song "naive".
Got Kooks, Arctic monkeys and Franz Ferdinand I'll check out the other 2 though
